A developing apparatus includes: a developer tank that contains a developer; and conveyance members that convey the developer while agitating the developer. The conveyance members include a first screw and a second screw. The developer tank includes: a first storage chamber in which the first screw is provided; a second storage chamber in which the second screw is provided; a partition that separates the first storage chamber from the second storage chamber; and a flow area that opens the partition to flow the developer between the first storage chamber and the second storage chamber; a developer detection sensor that detects an amount of the developer thereof; a discharge port that discharges the developer; and a discharge guide that guides the developer to the discharge port. The developer detection sensor detects that the developer tank is full according to the amount of the developer.

Toner cartridge, developing device and image forming apparatus allowing accurate control of toner replenish amount

The development device of the present invention has a rotating shutter supported rotatably between a supply opening formed on a toner supply device and a receiving opening formed on a developing tank. The rotating shutter has an open section extending in the axial direction of the roller-shaped main section as well as opened in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction thereof, opening and shutting the supply opening in conjunction with attachment and detachment operation of the developing tank. The rotating shutter shuts the supply opening by covering the supply opening with the outer surface of the roller-shaped main section, and opens the supply opening by communicating the supply opening and the receiving opening through the open section. Thus, it is possible to prevent the leakage of toner even after repetitively performing the attachment and detachment operation of the developing tank.

A developing apparatus having agitating/supplying section which is capable of providing enhanced developer stirrability and supplying a developer to a developing roller uniformly in its lengthwise direction is provided. The developing apparatus installed in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes an agitating/supplying section composed of: a rotary shaft member which is made rotatable about its rotation axis; a plurality of blade support members disposed intersectionally with respect to the rotation axis of the rotary shaft member; and a plurality of blade members formed between respective adjacent blade support members so as to be arranged around the rotation axis of the rotary shaft member and extend in a direction of the rotation axis.

An object of the present invention is to provide a remaining amount of toner detecting apparatus capable of highly accurately detecting the remaining amount of toner with a simple configuration, a toner cartridge in which the remaining amount of toner is highly accurately detected with a simple configuration, and an image forming apparatus which enables the operator to easily recognize time to resupply toner and is capable of forming an image of high image quality. A holding member () is flexible, one end () in the longitudinal direction is connected to a stirring member (), and the other end () in the longitudinal direction holds a detection auxiliary member () disposed in a housing (). Consequently, the holding member () and the detection auxiliary member () rotate as the stirring member () rotates. A detecting component () detects the distance to the detection auxiliary member () that changes in response to the amount of the toner () in the housing (), and a CPU () calculates the remaining amount of the toner ().
