An optical fiber-cable branch member includes: a branch member main body; a cable fixing portion that holds and fixes an end portion of a jacket of an optical fiber-cable onto the branch member main body; and a tube fixing portion that fixes a plurality of protective tubes onto the branch member main body. The optical fiber-cable includes a first optical fiber core bundle and the jacket, and the jacket coats an outer circumference of the first optical fiber core bundle and includes a tension-resisting member buried in a cable longitudinal direction. The plurality of protective tubes cover and protect respective outer circumferences of a plurality of second optical fiber core bundles obtained by branching the first optical fiber core bundle extending from the end portion of the jacket.

Optical fiber-cable branch member and optical fiber-cable branch structure

A fiber arrangement member includes: a tubular housing that houses a plurality of optical fibers; and a plurality of guide portions extending from a first end in an axial direction of the housing toward side areas of the first end. The guide portions extend from the housing in different directions from each other crossing an axial line of the housing. The guide portions comprise guide grooves that house the optical fibers and communicate with an inner space of the housing. The grooves are open at sides of the grooves opposite to a second end in the axial direction of the housing on entire lengths in extending directions of the grooves. The grooves selectively house the optical fibers extended from the first end in the axial direction of the housing. The optical fibers housed in one of the grooves move into another of the grooves.

An optical connector retaining unit includes: an optical connector retaining member that retains an optical connector of a distal end of an optical fiber in a connection standby state being optically connected to nothing; and a reflecting section that reflects visible light emitted from the distal end of the optical fiber after led into a proximal end of the optical fiber opposite to the distal end thereof provided with the optical connector, at an inclination angle of 45 degrees or less with respect to an optical axis of the emitted visible light, or a scattering section that scatters visible light emitted from the distal end of the optical fiber such that scattered light includes light within the inclination angle of 45 degrees or less with respect to the optical axis of the emitted visible light.

A ferrule with a fiber of this disclosure includes: a ferrule including a positioning hole, a plurality of fiber holes, and an endface perpendicular to an axial direction of the fiber holes; a lensed fiber with a GRIN lens that has been fusion spliced to a tip of an optical fiber; and a plate that can transmit light propagating through the optical fiber, the plate being attached to the endface of the ferrule, the plate being contacted against with an endface of the lensed fiber that has been inserted into each of the fiber holes, wherein the ferrule is formed with a recess that is depressed from the endface of the ferrule, a refractive index matching material is filled in a space surrounded with the plate and the recess.

Ferrule with optical fiber and optical connector system

A ferrule of the present invention includes a positioning mechanism for positioning an optical fiber, and a recess having at least a first inner wall for allowing a front end of the optical fiber portion positioned by the positioning mechanism to protrude, and a second inner wall opposite to the first inner wall. A distance between the first inner wall and the second inner wall is less than or equal to four times the outer diameter of the optical fiber. Adhesive is filled into the recess and cured in a state in which the optical fiber protrudes from the first inner wall and substantially contacts the second inner wall to fix the optical fiber.

Provided is a ferrule which includes a positioning mechanism configured to position an optical fiber having a predetermined outer diameter, and a recess configured for an adhesive to be disposed therein and having a first inner wall from which a front end of the optical fiber portion positioned by the positioning mechanism is protrudable, and a second inner wall opposite to the first inner wall. A distance between the first inner wall and the second inner wall is less than or equal to four times the outer diameter of the optical fiber.

Provided with a holding member main body having an upward U-shaped cross section and having a space to which a plurality of optical fiber ribbons can be accommodated in a laminated state; and a lid body having a downward U-shaped cross section, wherein latch structures that engage to each other when lid body covers holding member main body are provided at wall portions of lid body and holding member main body, the lid body includes an optical fiber ribbon pressing portion that presses the laminated optical fiber ribbons accommodated in holding member main body. Heating operation is not required unlike a heat shrinkable tube, and the optical fiber ribbons are held by only a simple operation of covering the lid body, so that the operation of holding the optical fiber ribbons in a laminated state is easily performed and readjustment of the position of the optical fiber ribbons in a longitudinal direction can be performed.

Optical fiber ribbon holding member, optical fiber ribbon holding method, and optical fiber ribbon bundle

An optical fiber ribbon holding member capable of readjusting a position of an optical fiber ribbon without requiring a heating operation is provided. A holding member main body that has a U-shaped cross section and a space to which a plurality of optical fiber ribbons can be accommodate in a laminated state, and a lid body an opening surface of which has a reverse U-shaped cross section are employed. A latch structure is formed on wall portions of a lid body and a holding member main body, and engages to each other when the lid body covers the holding member main body. Heating operation is not required, and the optical fiber ribbons are held by only a simple operation of covering the lid body, so that the operation of holding the optical fiber ribbons is easily performed and readjustment of the position of the optical fiber ribbons can be performed.

An optical connector includes a connector body that has a first optical fiber housed in advance in a ferrule so as to project from a back end of the ferrule opposite to the connecting end surface and an anchoring fixture that anchors a second optical fiber that is to be optically connected to the first optical fiber, and by pressing the anchoring fixture into the connector body while the second optical fiber is anchored in this anchoring fixture, the anchoring fixture and the connector body are connected to optically connect the first optical fiber and the second optical fiber, and the connecting portion that connects the anchoring fixture and the connector body form a movable connecting portion that is adapted to vary the direction of the anchoring fixture with respect to the connector body.
