A bipolar battery and a battery assembly unit that reduces a current density change in a battery element is disclosed. An assembled battery is equipped with an insulating support plate supporting bus bars, omits the bolting operation and can simplify the operation of electrically connecting the bus bars to electrode terminals. The assembled battery includes a plurality of battery modules having output terminals. An insulating bus bar plate (support plate) supports conductive bus bars that are electrically connected to the terminal surfaces. A guide movably guides the bus bar plate between a first position in which the bus bars are electrically connected to the terminal surfaces and a second position in which the bus bars are separated from the terminal surfaces. A lock supports the bus bar plate in the first position and maintains the bus bars in a state that is forcibly connected to the terminals surfaces.

Disclosed are a bipolar battery, a bipolar battery component and a method of manufacturing the same. The bipolar battery minimizes the occurrence of gas bubbles to provide superior battery performance. A battery element has a plurality of bipolar electrodes stacked upon one another while interposing separators therebetween. The bipolar electrode includes a collector formed with a cathode on one surface and an anode on the other surface. The component is a charging part with charging material disposed between collectors and separators to surround at least a periphery of the cathode and a periphery of the anode. An exhaust part is mounted to the charging part to exhaust a residual gas bubble from an inner space to outside of the inner space when stacking the bipolar electrodes.

A battery frame of the present invention has; any one of a conductive member and an insulating member which are sandwiched between electrode tabs of flat cells arranged in a stacking direction when a battery is formed, the conductive member electrically connecting the flat cells to each other and the insulating member electrically insulating the flat cells from each other; a holding member which holds any one of the conductive member and the insulating member so that the conductive member or the insulating member can swing in the stacking direction; and an electrode supporting portion in which the holding member is provided and which supports each of the electrode tabs of the flat cells.
