A foldable portable terminal device provided with a first housing includes a display unit, a speaker and a speaker sound hole, a second housing, and a hinge unit that couples the housings rotatably around two directions that perpendicularly intersect with each other. The device is configured such that coupling of the first housing and the hinge unit is coupled to a second rotary shaft of the hinge unit at a position closer to a surface having the speaker sound hole than a midpoint in a cross-section in a thickness direction of the first housing, and that a gap formed in a folded state in which the first housing is overlaid on the second housing with a surface having the speaker sound hole facing inside is greater than a gap formed in the folded state with the surface having the speaker sound hole facing outside.

Foldable portable terminal device

A 5-direction key operating device is provided in which the structure of diaphragm contacts disposed on a printed circuit board is improved to allow five diaphragms to be disposed in a minimum space, and a single button key is enabled to operate the five diaphragms. Moreover, a 5-direction key operating device is provided in which an operation space can be reduced, and desired one of information displayed on a display section can be selected and determined by a smooth key operation without causing an erroneous operation. In each of diaphragm contacts on which diaphragms () that are arranged in the shape of a cross in correspondence with 5-direction keys are to be placed, a circular contact () which is a first contact, and strip-like contact portions (to) which are elongated in a fan-like shape with respect to the center of the first contact () are disposed in a second contact () and in the side opposite to the side of the first contact (). According to this configuration and arrangement, the space for disposing the diaphragm contacts can be reduced, and the whole device can be miniaturized and lightened. Five diaphragms are shown on the printed circuit board, and five pusher portions are disposed on a core face opposed to the diaphragms and on a key base. The height of the upper, lower, right, and left pusher portions is set to be different from that of the center pusher portion.

5-directional key operation device

A portable device includes a camera section, a camera image display, a first case having a first surface having the display therein and a second surface opposite the first surface, a second case that can be positioned over the second surface of the first case, a rotation axis section supporting the second case to the first case rotatably about an axis perpendicular to the first surface of the first case, and a camera/display operation section. The camera section has an optical axis, and the rotation axis section accommodates the camera section so that the optical axis is parallel to the rotation axis. The operation section is on the first surface of the first case opposite an image-capturing direction of the rotation axis of the rotation axis section.

Camera-equipped portable device

There is provided a foldable electronic apparatus in which first and second casings are pivotally mounted by a bearing portion so as to be freely rotatable and these casings are automatically opened until a predetermined opening angle and then further manually opened. In the electronic apparatus of the present invention, the first and second casings (), () are freely rotatably connected to each other (pivotally mounted) through a bearing portion (). An opening/closing device () for automatically opening the first and second casings (), () until a predetermined opening angle by operating a push button () is secured to the bearing portion. When a predetermined period (T) has elapsed with the key held down (step), an operation to instruct a call origination to the telephone number on the display is assumed and a call is originated then conversation starts depending on the answer of the distant party (step). Keys on the cover can be used to operate keys on the body.

Portable telephone apparatus and control method thereof

A folding portable cellular phone includes a first box member and a second box member. The first box member includes: an upper case having a window for a display unit; an upper substrate on which electric parts are mounted; an upper hinge frame; and an upper cover on which these components are mounted. The second box member includes: a lower cover in which key holes are formed to provide a key console unit; a lower substrate including a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) on which electric parts are mounted; a lower hinge frame; and a lower case on which these components are mounted.

An earphone jack is fixed on a printed circuit board by soldering as well as a first holding rib and a second holding rib for holding in the horizontal direction and a third holding rib for holding in the perpendicular direction with respect to the printed circuit board are provided on a shield case. The invention supports an antenna ( ) retractably from bottom to top via an antenna receiver section ( ) on the side of the second case body ( ) so that it is possible to fold/unfold the first case body ( ) irrespective of the direction of the antenna ( ) and whether the antenna ( ) is stretched or housed.

In a folding mobile wireless device, at least one of contact portions of connecting portions which come in contact with a coupling pin has a higher strength than a portion other than the contact portion or a housing provided with the connecting portion including the contact portion.

Button switch

An antenna device is withdrawable from and receivable in a body of a portable radio device. A rodlike antenna is covered with a rodlike antenna cover, and a helix antenna to which an initial elastic strain is imparted is covered with a cap. A control portion of an electrically-conductive member is movably received in a groove formed in a portion of connection between the rodlike antenna cover and the cap. The rodlike antenna cover is supported on the body of the radio device. In an extended condition of the rodlike antenna, a connection portion of the electrically-conductive member is urged against the rodlike antenna by a restoring load of the helix antenna to electrically connect the spiral antenna to the rodlike antenna. In a retracted condition of the rodlike antenna, the electrically-conductive member is caused to abut against an antenna holder to be spaced apart from the rodlike antenna, thereby interrupting an electrical connection between the helix antenna and the rodlike antenna. In the retracted position of the rodlike antenna, an engagement projection of the cap is releasably engaged with a retaining pawl on the body to hold the rodlike antenna in its retracted position. With this arrangement, antenna characteristics are restrained from being degraded in the retracted condition of the rodlike antenna.
