A numerical control device for synchronously controlling the movement of a plurality of axes of a machine by repeatedly controlling a cyclic motion. An axis of the machine is designed to stop at a predetermined position upon the occurrence of an emergency stop. To achieve this stop position, an amount of retraction is set up to a position where a tool of machine does not interfere with a work piece or other obstacles. When an emergency stop signal is entered during a binary operation, because of an occurrence of an abnormality, a movement control amount for each period, corresponding to a set amount of retraction, is added to the movement control amount for each period of the binary operation and the axis is thereby driven by the resultant modified movement control amount. The binary operation is stopped upon the reaching of the stop position, and the tool can be held at this retracted position, by the set amount of retraction. Thus, the tool can be retraced to a predetermined position where it does not interfere with either a work piece or another obstacle.

Numerical control device

A single machining program including turning and milling program steps together with a turning mode command or a milling mode command is stored in a program memory. When the turning mode command is read out from the program, a numerical control apparatus analyzes the program according to a G code architecture for lathe by numerical controller &num;1 for turning to control servo motors and a spindle motor. When the milling mode command is read out from the program, the apparatus analyzes the program according to the G code architecture for milling by a numerical controller &num;2 for milling to control the servo motors and the spindle motor.

Numerical control apparatus

A table for fixing a workpiece is driven and controlled by a position control means in a CNC unit through servo motors. Approach of a press tool to the workpiece is started by a press operation control means in the CNC unit through a servo motor at the time prior to the time, at which the position control of the table is completed, by predetermined time. Afterward, the press tool is controlled according to operation data stored in a press operation storage means in the CNC unit.

A three-dimensional laser coordinate transformation system for a three-dimensional laser machining apparatus includes a preprocessing calculation unit (4) decodes a machining program stored in a memory (2) and outputs a command value for each axis. Coordinate transformation unit (8, 9) transform the command value into a command value on the coordinate system of an actual workpiece by a coordinate transformation matrix, and the transformed coordinate command value is interpolated by an interpolation means (11) to output an interpolation pulse. Servo motors (21, 22, 23, 24, 25) are driven in response to the interpolation pulse to thereby machine the workpiece.
