A pressure vessel includes a liner having an end wall assembly formed by connecting two rigid end wall members at a fixed distance from each other by a connecting member, and an elastic peripheral wall sheet fixed to the two end wall members so as to enclose a space between them. The two end wall members are made of aluminum alloy by an extrusion process. The connecting member is a pipe made of aluminum alloy by an extrusion process and having a large number of communicating holes in the pipe wall. The peripheral wall sheet is made of aluminum foil and is formed in a cylindrical shape so as to enclose the space between the two end wall members. Around the liner are provided a helical reinforcing layer and a hooped reinforcing layer which are both made of FRP. This pressure vessel is lightweight and can be easily produced at a low cost.

A method for making a steering wheel including a ring portion comprising a ring portion metal care having a plurality of angular portions in the transverse cross-section thereof. The ring portion metal core is provided in such a way that one of the diagonal lines which connect its angular portions is substantially parallel to the surface of a ring which is defined by connecting the entire periphery of the front edge of a ring portion in the diametral direction. A covering layer is covered on the surface of the ring portion metal core, and at least one spoke portion metal core is provided for mounting said ring portion on the steering shaft. The mold for molding the plastic covering on the ring core parts along a plane which includes the above-mentioned on diagonal line.

Method of making a steering wheel

A method of controlling the operation of a cross helical rolling mill. The cross helical rolling mill has a pair of work rolls arranged at respective predetermined lead angles, and a pair of power-driven drive roller shoes arranged obliquely at predetermined lead angles on both sides of the rolling region formed between both work rolls. The method comprises controlling the rotation speed of each of the drive roller shoes in synchronism with the speed of rotation of the rolled material such that the difference in the peripheral speed between each of the drive roller shoe and the rolled material falls within a predetermined range, and, simultaneously with the control of the speed, controlling the driving torque applied to each of the drive roller shoes. According to the method, the drive roller shoes impart driving torques to the rolled material, while maintaining the slip between the shoes and the rolled material within a predetermined allowable range, so that the material under the rolling can be held safely and stably, whereby the quality of the rolled product is improved and the lift of the shoes is prolonged. Disclosed also is an apparatus for carrying out this method.

Method of and apparatus for controlling operation of a cross helical

A steering wheel having the hand wheel part thereof formed of an injection molded foam of thermoplastic synthetic resin, which injection molded foam has a substantially solid outer surface and is covered with a coating. This steering wheel is produced in attractive appearance without requiring use of any specially formulated resin material or exercise of rigid control of molding conditions.
