Olefin oligomerization catalyst and method for producing olefin oligomer in the presence of the same catalyst

A novel olefin production process of the invention can be established as an industrial and practical process of producing an olefin with high selectivity by directly reacting a ketone and hydrogen in a single reaction step. In particular, a novel olefin production process is provided in which propylene is obtained with high selectivity by directly reacting acetone and hydrogen. An olefin production process of the invention includes reacting a ketone and hydrogen at a reaction temperature in the range of 50 to 300&#xb0; C. in the presence of a Cu-containing hydrogenation catalyst and a solid acid substance.

The present invention provides an industrially practical process where a ketone and an aromatic compound are directly reacted to obtain a corresponding alkylated aromatic compound in a single reaction step. The process for producing an alkylated aromatic compound is characterized in that it comprises reacting an aromatic compound, a ketone and hydrogen in the presence of a solid acid substance and a catalyst composition comprising at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Co, Re, Ni and a platinum group metal.

Process for producing alkylated aromatic compound and process for producing phenol

A novel olefin production process is provided which can be established as an industrial and practical process capable of producing olefins by directly reacting a ketone and hydrogen in a single reaction step. In particular, a novel olefin production process is provided in which propylene is obtained with high selectivity by directly reacting acetone and hydrogen. The olefin production process according to the present invention includes reacting a ketone and hydrogen in the presence of at least one dehydration catalyst and a silver-containing catalyst, and the at least one dehydration catalyst is selected from metal oxide catalysts containing a Group 6 element, zeolites, aluminas and heteropoly acid salts in which part or all the protons in heteropoly acids are exchanged with metal cations.

A method for producing an alkylated aromatic compound includes a step (i) of producing a reaction product (a1) containing the alkylated aromatic compound and water by the reaction of an aromatic compound, a ketone, and hydrogen using a metal component containing at least one metallic element of copper, nickel, cobalt, and rhenium and a solid acid substance; a step (ii) of forming a dehydrated product (a2) from at least a portion of the reaction product (a1) by removing at least a portion of the water in the reaction product (a1); and a step (iii) of producing a reaction product (a3) containing the alkylated aromatic compound by bringing at least a portion of the dehydrated product (a2) into contact with a solid acid substance.

Method for producing alkylated aromatic compound, method for producing cumene, and method for producing phenol

According to a process of the invention, a ketone, an aromatic compound and hydrogen as starting materials are reacted together in a single reaction step to produce an alkylaromatic compound in high yield. A process for producing phenols in the invention includes a step of performing the above alkylation process and does not increase the number of steps compared to the conventional cumene process. The process for producing alkylated aromatic compounds includes reacting an aromatic compound such as benzene, a ketone such as acetone and hydrogen in the presence of a solid acid substance, preferably a zeolite, and a silver-containing catalyst.

Olefin polymer and process for preparing the same

A process of preparing a telechelic polyolefin is disclosed by performing steps 1a, 2, and 1b in this order in the presence of an olefin polymerizing catalyst and subsequently performing step 3 if necessary. Step 1a involves reacting the olefin polymerizing catalyst with a polar-group-containing olefin (C). Step 2 involves reacting the resultant compound of step 1a with at least one olefin (D) selected from ethylene and olefins having 3 to 20 carbon atoms n times wherein n is an integer of 1 or more, provided that when n is an integer of 2 or more, the olefins (D) used in the respective contact operations are different in kind or composition. Step 1b involves reacting the resultant compound of step 2 with the same or different polar-group-containing olefin (C). Step 3 involves chemically converting the Y' group in the general formula (II) to a different group.

Telechelic polyolefin

Single chain-end functionalized polyolefin

The present invention provides a process in which a ketone is directly reacted with an aromatic compound in a single reaction step to obtain the corresponding alkylated aromatic compound in a higher yield. By reacting an aromatic compound with a ketone and hydrogen in the presence of a solid acid substance and a catalyst composition containing Cu and Zn in a ratio of Zn to Cu ranging from 0.70 to 1.60 (atomic ratio), the corresponding alkylated aromatic compound is prepared.

Process for preparing alkylated aromatic compound

An ethylene (co)polymer of the present invention is a (co)polymer with excellent moldability and mechanical properties and either an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin of 4 to 20 carbon atoms. The (co)polymer has methyl branches measured byC-NMR less than 0.1 in number per 1,000 carbon atoms and Mw/Mn measured by GPC not lower than 1.8 and lower than 4.5. The (co)polymer is either an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms. The melt tension (MT) and the swell ratio (SR) satisfy the relation; log(MT)&#x3e;12.9&#x2212;7.15&#xd7;SR; and the intrinsic viscosity ([&#x3b7;]) and the melt flow rate (MFR) satisfy the relation; [&#x3b7;]&#x3e;1.85&#xd7;MFRin the case of MFR&#x3c;1 and the relation; [&#x3b7;]&#x3e;1.85&#xd7;MFRin the case of MFR&#x2267;1. Such an ethylene (co)polymer can be usable for various molding applications and especially suitable for pipes.

Ethylene (co) polymer and its use

The present invention provides an olefin polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and a specific molecular weight, an olefin polymer having a functional group introduced at the terminal, a tapered polymer containing a segment wherein monomer composition continuously changes in the polymer chain, an olefin polymer having different segments which are bonded to each other, and a process for preparing these polymers. The olefin polymers of the invention are polymers of olefins of 2 to 20 carbon atoms and have a number-average molecular weight of not less than 500 and Mw/Mn of not more than 1.5. In the process for preparing an olefin polymer, an olefin of 2 to 20 carbon atoms is polymerized in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a transition metal compound represented by, for example, the following formula (I):LMX&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)wherein M is a transition metal atom of Group 3 to Group 11 of the periodic table, m is 1 to 5, n is a number satisfying a valence of M, L is a ligand coordinated to the central metal M and is a ligand containing a heteroatom having no direct bond to the central metal, and X is a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group or the like.
