A structure for sufficiently spacing a steering handle from a top bridge, thereby greatly improving design flexibility. A relief portion for allowing the deformation of a washer is formed to overlap a second contact surface and adjacent to a first contact surface as viewed in the axial direction of each bolt member. The first contact surface is located so as not to overlap the second contact surface as viewed in the axial direction of each bolt member. Therefore, a bending force acts on the washer to allow the deformation of the washer. That is, the washer can exhibit a spring function to relax the effect of the bending force. As a result, the steering handle can be sufficiently spaced from the top bridge to thereby greatly improve design flexibility.

Fastening device

An object of the invention is to improve the motorcycle radiator arranging construction with a view to improving the external appearance characteristic of a motorcycle. In a motorcycle having a water-cooled engineinstalled thereon, a radiatoris arranged erect in a spacedefined between the engineand a rear wheelin such a manner that a front surfacethereof is directed in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and is supported on a body frame, whereby the radiatoris made difficult to see from the outside compared with a case where the radiator is arranged at the front of the body frame to thereby make conspicuous, for example, the design of the engine.

Since a large part of an outer tube is made of light alloy such as aluminum, plating on a surface of the outer tube sometimes peels off. Thus, the surface of the outer tube is generally painted. However, a problem is presented in the external appearance of the outer tube due to painting. A structure of a front fork includes an outer tube into which an inner tube is movably inserted in an axial direction thereof. A stepped part is formed in the outer tube with a third elastic member fitted to the stepped part. A tube cover includes a lower portion which is supported by the third elastic member. Since an outer surface of the tube cover covering the outer tube is plated, the external appearance can be enhanced. Even if the outer tube has a rough surface, light metal castings or forgings can be used.

To provide a front fender device for a motorcycle in which a front fender extending on front and rear sides of a front fork is mounted on the front fork in such a manner as to cover an upper side of the front wheel. The device is intended to increase the degree of freedom in design while minimizing an increase in weight and reducing vibration and noise from the front fender. Garnishes are mounted on each of right and left outer surfaces of a front fender at a plurality of positions spaced in the longitudinal direction of the front fender with elastic members inserted between the front fender and the garnishes.

A rear trunk for a vehicle having a rear wall which is inclined with respect to a bottom portion of the trunk such that it overhangs the bottom of the trunk. The opening of the trunk may be narrower than the bottom of the trunk without requiring complicated manufacturing steps. The body of the trunk can be formed in this shape as an integral piece by blow molding. An inner member can be included which divides the interior space of the trunk body into separate compartments, and may be blow molded integrally with the trunk body.

In a motorcycle having a saddle bag provided at least on one side of a rear wheel, the saddle bag is supported on the body frame and protected using a reduced number of required parts, thus increasing design freedom. A guard pipe extends outside beyond the saddle bag and is mounted to the body frame. At least a portion of the saddle bag is fixedly supported by the guard pipe.

In a headlight integral with a speedometer the rigidity of the headlight case is ensured while making the headlight water and dust-proof. A meter hole is formed in the upper surface of a headlight case which constitutes a headlight, a speedometer is inserted into the meter hole from above and is secured to the headlight case through a meter stay in the interior of the headlight case. In addition, a meter cord and bulb cord are put together and extend between the exterior and the interior through a wiring hole formed in the rear portion of the headlight case.

The shock absorber includes an oil pressure damper (1), a piston rod (2) and a cushion spring (3), wherein the cushion spring (3) contacts to the piston rod side with an end thereof and another end (6) thereof contacts to a spring receiving face (8) of a spring seat (7). Since the spring seat (7) is integrated with an adjuster (10) by engaging claws (9) with the adjuster (10) and is also integrated with a movable cover (20), the spring seat (7), the adjuster (10) and the movable cover (20) rotate and move to an axial direction as one body. Further, an O-ring (17) is provided in a space formed by an lower end face (15) of the spring receiving face (8) and an inner side arc portion of a flange (11) between an outer face of the oil pressure damper (1) and therewith, the lower end face (15) of the spring receiving surface (8) and the inner side arc portion (16) and is elastically supported by the O-ring (17) in a state that the space formed between the outer surface of the oil pressure damper (1) and therewith is buried in non-looseness.

A main seat of a motorcycle has a rear section with an improved outer appearance, and an increased supporting strength. The main seat is supported at the rear side frame through a fixing member fixed at a rising section at its rear. The seat fixing structure is constructed such that the fixing member is integrally provided with an ornamental plate section extending along the outer circumferential edge at the rear surface of the rising section. As a result, the seat fixing member improves the visual appearance of the rear section of the seat, and improves the supporting strength of the seat.

An improved motorcycle frame structure is provided to increase the rigidity of a frame of a motorcycle around a pivot plate. A cross pipe is mounted between lower portions of left and right pivot plates, and lower end portions of left and right center pipes are welded to the cross pipe. Another cross pipe is mounted between upper portions of the left and right center pipes. An intermediate portion of the right side center pipe is welded to a position of the inner side of a pivot plate forwardly of the pivot shaft receiver by way of a pipe member while an intermediate portion of the left side center pipe is coupled to a position on the inner side of the other pivot plate forwardly of the pivot shaft receiver by way of a bolt.

The present invention relates to a motorcycle seat including a single seat or a double seat provided with a side support portion in each of both right and left sides which is adjustably constructed the distance between an operator's or a passenger's waist sides and the side support portions. It can easily adjust the supporting pressure to their waist sides and therefore, such an arrangement can realize any suitable space adjustment to accommodate the difference from the operator's or the passenger's size.
