The present invention discloses a thermosetting resin composition which comprises (A) 35 to 75 parts by weight of a thermosetting resin comprising a compound having a hydrobenzoxazine ring as a main component, (B) 10 to 25 parts by weight of a polycondensation product of a phenol, a compound having a triazine ring and an aldehyde, and (C) 10 to 45 parts by weight of an epoxy resin, based on 100 parts by weight of the total amount of organic solid components of Components (A), (B) and (C), and (i) a bisphenol F epoxy resin having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 3,000, or (ii) a mixed epoxy resin of bisphenol F epoxy resin and bisphenol A epoxy resin having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 3,000, is contained in Component (C) in an amount of 0 to 100% by weight of Component (C); and a prepreg, a laminated board for a wiring board and a wiring board using the same.

Dihydrobenzoxazine ring-containing resin, phenolic-triazine-aldehyde condensate and epoxy resin

The present invention discloses a process for producing a benzoxazine resin which comprises the steps of reacting a phenol compound, an aldehyde compound and a primary amine in the presence of an organic solvent to synthesize a benzoxazine resin and removing generated condensation water and the organic solvent from a system under heating and a reduced pressure, wherein a pressure in the reaction system at the time of removal is set to 260 mmHg or higher.

Method for producing benzoxazine resin

A novel thermosetting compound which is speedily curable, generates no by-products during curing and gives cured products having excellent heat resistance and inflammability. A thermosetting compound characterized in containing, per molecule, at least one structural unit represented by the formula (A) and at least one structural unit represented by the formula (B) in a (A)/(B) molar ratio of 1/0.25 to 1/9, said structural units being bonded directly or via at least one organic group with one another; ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a methyl group, a cyclohexyl group, a nonsubstituted phenyl group or a phenyl group substituted with at least one substituent, and each hydrogen atom on the aromatic rings of (A) and (B), except for one of hydrogen atoms on ortho-positions of the hydroxy group in the aromatic ring of (A), may optionally be replaced with a substituent.

Thermosetting compounds, cured product thereof and method of preparing

A thermosetting resin composition (a) comprising 60 to 97% by weight of a thermosetting resin containing dihydrobenzoxazine rings and 3 to 40% by weight of a novolac phenolic resin and a thermosetting resin composition (b) comprising 5 to 30% by weight of the thermosetting resin and 70 to 95% by weight of a novolac phenolic resin are cured fast, and the cured products thereof are excellent in mechanical properties and non-flammability.
