A transport system composed of road side stations installed along roads and vehicles running on roads, wherein emergency processing at the time of an accident, a local information providing service, and so on are realized by the road side stations in cooperation of the road side stations and the respective vehicles. In the transport system, a plurality of road side stations are interconnected through a road side communication network, and a plurality of vehicles communicate with the road side stations. A vehicle transmits a request message containing a service code and location information. A road side station receiving the request message broadcasts the request message to the network. The road side stations receive the message, and determine whether or not requested processing should be executed based on the service code and the location information. When determining that the processing should be executed, the road side station executes processing indicated by the service code.

Transport system

In a vehicle equipped with an engine and a regenerative system, the quantity of energy storage by the regenerative system is scheduled, and fuel efficiency and driving ease are controlled. If the destination of a vehicle and a route to reach it are not indicated, automatic scheduling is performed. Vehicle scheduling is performed by predicting the distribution of height positions the vehicle is predicted to reach at future points of time and using the representative value of the height at each point of time.

A pipeline breakage sensing system includes a plurality of pressure sensors installed on pipelines to measure pressure of a fluid. Each of these pressure sensors presumes a breakage location in cooperation with other neighboring sensors on the basis of a pressure change of the fluid and transmits information relating to the presumed breakage location. The pipeline breakage sensing system further includes a pressure sensor for detecting the occurrence of a seismic earthquake event, in addition to a managing center for sensing a breakage location on the basis of information transmitted from respective pressure sensors and by calculating a time correlated comparison between the superimposed pressure readings from neighboring pressure sensors used to detect the occurrence of such a fluid pressure change. Thereby, breakage of a pipeline network is sensed and the quantity of flow delivered through an affected pipeline is adjusted, stopped or regulated by control of one or more valves in accordance with a predetermined, weighted system of fluid flow requirements, customer ordered priorities and customer demand levels.

A learning control method for an electronic engine control system in which a variable concerning the adhesion of injected fuel onto a wall surface of an intake manifold, the evaporation of adhered fuel or the runaway of fuel to a cylinder is determined on the basis of a detection value of the operating state of an engine in accordance with a predetermined relational expression and the quantity of fuel injection is controlled on the basis of the determined value of the variable so that a target air/fuel ratio is realized, comprises the steps of determining the degree of deviation of an air/fuel ratio from the target value after the engine has been turned from a steady operating state into a transient operating state, determining a range in which the detection value of the engine operating state as the base of determination of the variable has changed upon occurrence of a fuel injection quantity control error which causes the deviation of the air/fuel ratio from the target value, and correcting a corresponding relationship between the engine operating state and the variable in the determined range of change on the basis of at least the degree of deviation of the air/fuel ratio from the target value by use of a rule-based inference.

A method and an apparatus for control of engine fuel injection are characterized by detecting the state of the acceleration of the engine and also judging whether or not the engine is in a specific acceleration state, by, when the engine is judged to be in a specific state of acceleration, using such a value as a crank shaft angle obtained in advance in order to predict the air mass flow rate of the air flowing into a specific cylinder having undergone a fuel injection, by using the predicted air mass flow rate or the crank shaft angle to determine a proper asynchronous fuel injection quantity for the above-mentioned acceleration state for the specific cylinder, and then by performing an asynchronous injection. In this way, it is possible to calculate the shortage of fuel occurring with the synchronous injection even at the early stage of acceleration by using various variables so as to determine a proper supplemental fuel supply quantity (asynchronous injection quantity) for achieving a desired air fuel ratio in various drive modes.

In order to make the quantity of fuel in a cylinder approach a requested value with high accuracy, the characteristic of fuel transport is employed by use of a model in which all injected fuel adheres onto walls of the intake manifold and then a part of the fuel adhering to the walls is sucked off into the cylinder.
