A methacrylate resin composition containing 20 to 99% by weight of a methacrylate resin and 80 to 1% by weight of a methacrylic two-layer polymer which has an inner layer and an outer layer and is characterized by the properties: (a) the inner layer having repeating units derived from methyl methacrylate and having a viscosity average molecular weight of 500,000 to 5,000,000, (b) the outer layer of the two-layer polymer having repeating units derived from methyl methacrylate and having a viscosity average molecular weight of 50,000 to 300,000, (c) a weight ratio of the inner layer to the outer layer of 1:9 to 9:1, (d) a glass transition temperature of 50.degree. to 120.degree. C. and (e) an average particle size of 200 to 5000 .ANG., which composition is excellent in moldability, resistance to heat distortion, mechanical properties and also solvent resistance.

The thermoplastic olefin resin composition of the present invention comprises: a resin composition consisting of at least one modified polypropylene and a polyglutarimide, and an epoxy group containing copolymer. The modified polypropylene is one in which at least an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof is graft copolymerized onto a polypropylene. This composition has good mold processability and can be used to produce molded products which are superior in mechanical properties to those obtained from the individual polymers of the composition.

Thermoplastic olefin resin composition

A thermoplastic copolymer which comprises (a) 2.0 to 22.0% by weight of a methyl methacrylate unit, (b) 38.0 to 70.0% by weight of a styrene unit, and 20.0 to 45.0% by weight in total of both (c) a methacrylic acid unit and (d) an acid anhydride unit having a 6-membered ring structures. The acid anhydride unit has a 6-membered ring structure being in an amount of not less than 16.0% by weight per total amount of the units (c) and (d), and the copolymer has a reduced viscosity of 0.3 to 1.5 dl/g (measured in a 1% solution in dimethylformamide at 25.degree. C. which has well balanced heat distortion resisting properties, water absorption properties and mechanical strength and excellent heat stability in the fabrication thereof, and is useful for producing various parts such as automobile parts, electrical parts, industrial parts and miscellaneous goods.

Thermoplastic copolymer

A filler-containing polypropylene resin composition is disclosed, comprising (a) from 30 to 90% by weight of a polypropylene resin, (b) from 2.5 to 38% by weight of an ethylene copolymer composed of from 82 to 98.7 mol % of ethylene, from 1 to 15 mol % of an ester selected from alkyl acrylate and alkyl methacrylates having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety thereof and from 0.3 to 3 mol % of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride, and (c) from 5 to 50% by weight of a filler. Molded products obtained from the composition have improved finishing properties, such as adhesion, coating properties, printability, and the like.

Polypropylene resin composition containing filler

A resin composition is provided which comprises a crystalline propylene-ethylene copolymer resin mixed with mica having a specified average particle diameter and particle size distribution or a rubber-like material so that it shows an excellent balance between rigidity and impact strength and an excellent thermal resistance and provides an excellent appearance when formed in products. In a preferred embodiment, the polypropylene resin composition comprises 50 to 97% by weight of a crystalline propylene-ethylene copolymer resin, 0 to 20% by weight of a rubber-like material, and 3 to 50% by weight of mica having an average particle diameter determined by photo extinction sedimentation method of 0.5 to 4.5.mu. and a particle size distribution of 95% or more by weight for 10.mu. or less, 60% or more by weight for 5.mu. or less, and 10 to 80% by weight for 1.mu. or less.

Polypropylene resin composition comprising talc having specified average

A novel copolymer resin having excellent compatibility with rubber and plastics, stable to air, easily soluble in the hydrocarbon solvents and free of gel, said resin being obtained either (1) by copolymerizing one or more of the monomeric substances selected from the group consisting of cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene and alkyl-substituted compounds thereof and one or more of the substances selected from the hydroxystyrene derivatives, or (2) by copolymerizing one or more of the monomeric substances selected from the group consisting of cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene and alkyl-substituted compounds thereof, one or more of the substances selected from the codimers of cyclopentadiene and/or alkyl-substituted compounds thereof and chain conjugated diolefins having 4 to 5 carbon atoms, and one or more of the substances selected from the hydroxystyrene derivatives. There are also provided compositions comprising said resin and rubber or thermoplastic high-molecular weight substances.
