A brake fluid pressure control apparatus for vehicles comprises an electric motor mounted on one side of a housing, an electronic control box mounted on the other side of the housing, and conductive members extending from the electronic control box. The conductive members are inserted in through holes of the housing, and have motor connection male terminals at tip ends thereof. Motor connection male terminals are accommodated in motor accommodation portions provided in the electric motor. The motor connection female terminals and the motor connection male terminals are engaged for electrical connection.

Integrated brake fluid control electrical connection apparatus

A small, lightweight, easy-to-assemble brake pressure controller manufactured by integrating a hydraulic circuit block including pumps and pressure regulating solenoid valves, pump-driving motor, and a control block having a built-in electronic control circuit for producing signals for actuating the motor and the solenoid valves. The rotor of the motor is housed in a bore formed in the hydraulic circuit block in which are mounted the plunger pumps and solenoid valves. A rear opening of the motor is closed by the control block. Lead pins extending from a brush holder of the motor and solenoid coils of the solenoid valves extend through a case of the control block, and are electrically connected to an electronic control circuit on a printed circuit board. With this arrangement, it is possible to electrically connect the hydraulic circuit block to the control block without using external lead wires and connectors. The feeding brush and the solenoid coils can be assembled easily by mounting them integrally on the control block beforehand.

Brake pressure controller

An apparatus, for controlling the pressure of braking-fluid, provided in a circuit for controlling the pressure thereof comprising: a solenoid valve, having a pressure receiving portion fluid-tightly inserted into a housing and an electromagnetic coil, for controlling the pressure of the braking fluid by opening and closing a valve ball communicating with the pressure receiving portion; and holding portion for holding the solenoid valve on the housing against fluid pressure acting on the pressure receiving portion. In this construction, the holding portion is made of a magnetic material and constitutes a part of the electromagnetic path of the solenoid valve.

Holding apparatus for a solenoid valve controlling brake pressure

An arrangement for preventing the master cylinder of a brake system from getting damaged even if the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir is suctioned into the brake circuit during traction control. A wheel brake pressure control valve is provided in the main line. The system also includes a discharged fluid reservoir for storing fluid discharged from the control valve, a pump for returning the fluid in the discharged fluid reservoir into the fluid return point of the main line, a traction control changeover valve for checking any fluid flow from the fluid return point toward the master cylinder, and an intermediate reservoir provided in the supply line branching from the main line and adapted to communicate with the main line during normal braking. The system further includes a relief valve provided in a connecting line branching from the main line to check any fluid flow from the supply line toward the intermediate reservoir during traction control. Another changeover valve is provided to open and close communication between the intermediate reservoir and the discharged fluid reservoir.

Brake fluid pressure controller

A fluid pressure control device having a housing formed with a bore and a solenoid valve mounted in the bore. The solenoid valve has a frame of a magnetic material mounted in the bore. The frame and thus the solenoid valve are mounted in the bore of the housing and secured in position by a pin received in a hole formed in the frame and supported by the housing. This eliminates a seating plate for securing the solenoid valve against the housing. This contributes to a compact design, light weight and lower manufacturing cost.

Fluid pressure control device

An antilock modulator can maintain a short brake pedal stroke during normal braking operations, which improves the pedal feeling during antilock control, and can prevent unnecessary increases in the pump discharge pressure. The antilock modulator has a main fluid line connecting the wheel brake to the master cylinder and a line branching from the main fluid line and leading to the discharge end of the hydraulic pump. At the branching point is provided a differential pressure-responsive mechanism which shuts off fluid communication between the master cylinder and the discharge end of the pump when the pressure difference between the wheel brake and the master cylinder exceeds a predetermined value, and otherwise allows fluid communication therebetween.

Antilock modulator

A fluid pressure control unit has a changeover valve and an electromagnetic discharge valve combined with each other so that with the opening and closing of the latter valve, the communication between the inlet leading to the pressure source and the first and second outlets leading to wheel brakes is changed over for normal braking, pressure reduction for antilock control and pressure reincrease. Part of the sleeve of the changeover valve is used as the frame of the discharge valve which functions as a magnetic circuit. This reduces the number of parts, eliminates the need for an O-ring and facilitates maintenance.

Fluid pressure control device having changeover and electromagnetic

Brake fluid pressure control unit improved for smaller size and lower cost. A motor for a pump ms mounted in the circuit block and the pump is mounted on one axial end of the motor. The pressure adjusting units having solenoid valves are arranged around the motor. The case of the motor has a portion forming a part of a magnetic circuit through which magnetic fluxes produced in the coils or the solenoid valves flow.

Brake fluid pressure control unit

An electric motor has guides (8,9,10,11) inside its yoke (1) for guiding the insertion of a through-bolt (7) for mounting the electric motor on a fixed surface, thereby preventing the through-bolt (7) from being attracted by permanent magnets (2) which are provided within the yoke (1). The guides (8,9,10,11) for the through-bolt (7) are formed by protrusions (8) defined in the inner periphery of the yoke (1) for holding the through-bolt (7), or by a sleeve (9,10,11) having a through-hole (9a, 10a,11a) for receiving the through-bolt (7) passing through an end surface of a cover (6) for the yoke (1) and through a brush holder (5) or through a portion inside the yoke (1).

Electric motor with through-bolt guides for mounting

A flow control valve for an antilocking device in a vehicle brake system prevents a locking of the wheels during a brake application. The flow control valve includes a pressure reducing chamber (115) regularly connected with an outlet port (111) through a passage by way of a fixed orifice (125). An inlet port (110) is normally connected with the outlet port (111) through a small passage. Therefore, even if a spool (116) is fixed in a position closing a large passage, working fluid introduced into the inlet port (110) flows to the outlet port (111) through the small passage, whereby it is possible to apply pressure to a wheel brake without wheel locking.

Flow control valve for an antilocking device in a vehicle brake system

A flow control valve for use in an antilock control device includes a housing having inlet and outlet ports communicating with a pressure source and a wheel brake, respectively, and a spool slidably mounted in the housing and formed with a channel including an orifice. When the spool is in a first position, a large-flow passage is formed between the inlet and outlet ports. When in another position, a restricted-flow passage is formed between the inlet and outlet ports through the orifice while the large-flow passage is closed. A piston is mounted in the housing on top of the spool. Every time the brake is applied, the piston is adapted to move up and down, thus allowing the spool to slide in the same direction to the first position. Instead of the piston, a sleeve may be disposed between the inner periphery of the housing and the outer periphery of the spool so as to be slidable relative to both the housing and the spool. Every time the brake is applied, the sleeve is adapted to slide against the bias of a spring. In either arrangement, a relative movement takes place between the spool and the housing or the sleeve every time the brake is applied. This will prevent the spool from getting stuck between the first and second positions.

Flow control valve for antilock brake control device

An anti-lock brake control system for an automobile is provided with a master cylinder, a main fluid passage communicating between the master cylinder and at least one wheel brake, a recirculating passage branched off from the main fluid passage for recirculating a fluid medium back to the main fluid passage, a pump disposed in the recirculating passage for recirculating the fluid medium, a pressure regulator for reducing or increasing the brake pressure of the wheel brake and an anti-lock modulator for changing the area of the main fluid passage. The modulator is provided with a housing having a fluid chamber, a first port communicating with the master cylinder and a second port communicating with the pump, and with a movable element vertically movably accommodated in the fluid chamber. The movable element is normally located at a lower position in the fluid chamber by the gravity and moved upwards by the flow of the fluid medium discharged from the pump. The modulator is so constructed as to reduce the area of the main fluid passage when the movable element is moved upwards.

Modulator for use in an anti-lock brake control system

A brake pressure control device for vehicles is arranged in a pipeline connecting a master cylinder (22) and a wheel brake (23) with an electromagnetic directional control valve (24) which is switchable to any one of a plurality of valve positions by electromagnetic force. The electromagnetic directional control valve (24) is switched between a first valve position and a second valve position. Bidirectional flow of fluid is allowed when the electromagnetic directional control valve is in the first valve position. Unidirectional flow of the fluid is allowed but a reverse flow of the fluid is prevented when the electromagnetic directional control valve is in the second valve position.

Brake pressure control device for vehicles

A brake pressure control device introduces pump pressure which is produced by a pump (16) into piping which connects a master cylinder (4) and wheel brakes (11, 11', 12, 12'). The increase, decrease and retention of the wheel brake pressure are effected by utilizing the pump pressure. Absorbers (19, 19') which consume hydraulic fluid are installed in branches from piping which connects the master cylinder (4) and the wheel brakes (11, 11', 12, 12'). 4-port 2-position control valves (5, 5') are installed in the hydraulic passages which connect the master cylinder (4) and the absorbers (19, 19') and at the inlet port for the pump pressure and at the outlet port to the absorbers (19, 19'). The 4-port 2-position control valves (5, 5') selectively switch the hydraulic passages in such a manner that when the pump pressure is normal, they render conductive the hydraulic passage which connects the master cylinder (4) and absorbers (19, 19') but when the pump pressure fails and thereby decreases, they render conductive the hydraulic passage which connects the master cylinder (4) and wheel brakes (11, 11', 12, 12').

A flow control valve for antilock control includes a housing having inlet, outlet and discharge ports communicating with a master cylinder, a wheel brake and a reservoir circuit, respectively, and a spool mounted in the housing so as to be slidable between two positions. When the spool is in one of the two positions, a large-flow channel is formed between the inlet and outlet ports, whereas in the other position, a restricted-flow channel is formed therebetween. In an intermediate position, both of the channels are closed by edge portions formed on the spool. A throttled bypass channel is formed so as to branch off from the restricted-flow channel so as to be connected to the outlet port. Even if the spool should get stuck in any intermediate position between the above two positions, hydraulic oil can be fed from the inlet port to the outlet port through this throttled channel.
