A method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium comprising a first step in which a first magnetic layer, having a repetitive magnetization pattern formed by a magnetic head over its entire surfaces is formed on a base layer. The base layer and the first magnetic layer together form a first laminated body. In a second step, a second magnetic layer in which magnetic particles are oriented in a predetermined direction and which is thermally magnetizable is formed on a second base layer. The second base layer and the second magnetic layer form a second laminated body. In a third step, the second laminated body is bonded to the first laminated body.

Method of manufacturing a magnetic recording medium

In a magnetically recording and erasing the magnetic latent image on the magnetic recording medium, the magnetic recording medium includes a base layer, a first magnetic layer in which a repetitive magnetic pattern is in advance formed, and a second magnetic layer on which the magnetic latent image to be formed is thermo-magnetically formed. A method of erasing the magnetic latent image on the second magnetic layer includes the steps of simultaneously applying an external magnetic field and heat to be thermally magnetized layer of a magnetic recording medium.

Magnetic recording medium and magnetic recording method

The present invention relates to a thermomagnetic recording apparatus in which a chemical compound material the Curie point of which varies in response to a ratio of chemical combination in chemical compound constituent is utilized as a magnetic material for its magnetic recording medium, and the Curie temperature is set higher than the ambient temperature by a prescribed value on the ratio of chemical combination determined, thereby resulting in printing at a relatively low temperature and precision of printing in a prescribed degree.

Thermomagnetic recording apparatus

Magnetic recording arrangement, for example, in a thermomagnetographic plain-paper printer, produces a latent magnetic image on a magnetic recording medium which is composed of a ferromagnetic layer, first magnetized along a predetermined direction before forming the latent magnetic image, and a magnetic layer of high permeability to be converted into a paramagnetic layer by being subjected to the heat from a heating head until the layer is heated to its Curie point or above. The magnetic layers are respectively laminated to opposite sides of a base layer, the heating head being placed at the opposite side of the base layer from the ferromagnetic layer so as to remain out of contact with the ferromagnetic layer, thus making the cleaning of the heating head substantially unnecessary while keeping the latent magnetic image of high quality. In the magnetic recording medium, a direct-current magnetic field of the opposite sense as the magnetized direction of the ferromagnetic layer, or an alternating-current magnetic field the phase of which is reversed at positions corresponding to opposite ends of at least a paramagnetized part, is applied to the paramagnetized part of the high permeable magnetic layer thus forming a magnetic latent image on the ferromagnetic layer by leakage of the magnetic flux from the paramagnetized part to the ferromagnetic layer.

Magnetic recording arrangement for thermographic printing apparatus

A method of thermo-magnetic recording employs a recording medium of a magnetization material disposed on an insulator. An area on the medium is joule-heated via the application of a voltage across contacting electrodes up to a bias point, and a heat pattern is applied in the form of an image to form a magnetic latent image.

Thermo-magnetic recording method

A magnetic recording medium for use in recording a magnetic latent image includes a high permeability layer having a low Curie point and a magnetic recording layer formed thereover. In use, the high permeability layer is selectively heated to the Curie point, so as to allow a magnetic signal to pass therethrough and be recorded on the recording layer.

A magnetic copying method and apparatus reads data from originals and records them in a ferromagnetic, image memory bearer. The master latent images formed on the image memory bearer are transferred from the memory bearer onto a ferromagnetic recording body as slave magnetic latent images, and, subsequently, these slave magnetic latent images are developed with toner into toner images so that they can be transferred onto transferring materials. Subsequently, the toner images on the transferring materials are fixed. The image memory bearer can be rewound after all the data contained in it have been transferred onto the transferring material so that additional copies can easily be made.

A thermomagnetic printer includes a recording unit for storing a latent image in which there are provided a magnetic recording layer providing thermomagnetic effect when placed in magnetic field with temperature graduation on one side of a photoconductive layer and a transparent electrically conductive layer on the other side. When storing a latent image in the magnetic recording layer, light which emits corresponding to the image to be reproduced on a paper is irradiated onto the photoconductive layer through the transparent electrically conductive layer while applying magnetic field to the magnetic recording layer and supplying electricity between the magnetic recording layer and the electrically conductive layer, whereby irradiated part of the photoconductive layer and the corresponding part of the magnetic recording layer are heated by Joule heat effect and the latter is magnetized by the thermomagnetic effect. By repeating the above operation in accordance with the image information, the latent image is formed in the magnetic recording layer.

Thermomagnetic printer

This invention provides a magnetic printer which permits substantially thorough removal of the residual developing agent from the magnetic latent image carrier or the photoreceptor's surface after the stage of image transfer even when the developing agent in use has high specific resistance and excels in both transfer property and developing property. The magnetic printer according to this invention is adapted to effect removal of any developing agent remaining on the magnetic latent image carrier after transfer of a visible image of developing agent by conferring electric charge upon the residual developing agent and subsequently forcing thorough departure of the residual developing agent from the magnetic latent image carrier by virtue of electrostatic force, wherein a source of electric pulses is used to generate the aforementioned electro-static force in such a manner that the electric charges imparted in advance to the residual developing agent are prevented from being reduced, totally eliminated or even reversed the polarity thereof by the DC electric field produced by the DC electric field produced between a bias roll and an opposite roll.

A method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium wherein a first magnetic layer having a repetitive magnetization pattern is formed on a base layer, an intermediate layer of non-magnetic material is formed over the first magnetic layer, and a second magnetic layer in which magnetic particles are orientated in a predetermined direction is formed on the intermediate layer.

A combination thermal and magnetic recording head is advantageously designed such that the heat generating resistor elements forming the thermal device are incorporated with the magnetic head device. Specifically, the thermal head may be incorporated in the air gap of the magnetic device.
