A half-mirror evaporated layer is formed by spattering all over a front face of a resin substrate, and at the front faces of the reflector parts, aluminum evaporated layers are further formed to be reflecting mirror faces on the half-mirror evaporated layer, while at the front face of an extension, the half-mirror evaporated face is exposed as a half-mirror face.

A method and apparatus for forming a hydrophilic layer on a surface of polymer layer of a reflector economically and safely. The method for manufacturing a reflector includes steps of molding a base body of the reflector; forming reflective layer for reflecting light on a surface of the base body; forming a layer of water-repellent polymer on a surface of the reflective layer; and performing hydrophilic treatment on a surface of the polymer layer using plasma of gaseous argon.

Method for manufacturing reflector

A vehicle lamp fixture comprising a reflector that is made of a thermoplastic resin and is covered with a light reflecting film on its surface and a lens that is made of a thermoplastic resin and is mounted on the reflector. The reflector has a welding leg portion which projects from the circumferential edge of the reflector, and the tip end of the reflector welding leg portion is formed with an inclined surface which is inclined with respect to a direction in which the lens is brought to make a contact with the reflector when welding is performed between the reflector and the lens.

Vehicle lamp fixture

A line-type film-forming method for sequentially forming aluminum metallized films and silicone plasma polymerized protective films on a plurality of synthetic-resin base materials. The films are formed by moving a case, which houses the synthetic-resin base materials, successively in line through an aluminum metallizing chamber and a plasma polymerized film forming chamber so as to form a reflector that can be mounted in a discharge headlamp.
