A blind fastener for connecting panels includes a bolt and nut. The bolt includes a shaft, bolt head, and lug. The bolt head is between the shaft and lug. The shaft defines external threads opposite the bolt head. The lug includes a first tool engagement portion and first frangible portion that connects the lug and bolt head. The nut includes a sleeve, nut head, and handling member. A central bore of the sleeve receives the shaft and defines internal threads mated with the external threads. The nut head is between the handling member and sleeve. The nut head extends radially from the sleeve and defines a recess that receives the bolt head. The handling member surrounds a portion of the lug. The handling member includes a second frangible portion and a second tool engagement portion. The second frangible portion couples the second tool engagement portion to the nut head.

A clip nuthas first and second opposed armsextending longitudinally and the second armincludes first and second wallsextending transversely of the clip nut, and the first wallincludes a first plurality of cavitiesand the second wallincludes a second plurality of cavities. A nutincludes legsextending into respective cavities. The nut is assembled with the clip nut by putting a leg into a cavity in the first wall and moving the nut toward the second arm to engage a cavity in the second wall.

The invention relates to a plastic container having a tamper evident lid and methods therefor, and particularly to a plastic container having a two-component pull-tab attached to part of the lid at its edge which is used to pull the lid off the container, where the pull-tab has a frangible break line where the act of pulling the pull-tab breaks an outer section away from an inner locked down tab, and once the frangible section is broken, provides evidence that the container was opened, since both parts of the pull-tab are now separated and the outer one bent upwards at an angle.

A container which includes a base () that can hold food and a lid () that closes on the base, which clearly indicates if the lid has been opened after a clerk loaded food into the base and closed the lid. The base and lid each have trapping portions () and pull-open portions () with a tear-tab, or tear-open barrier (). To close the lid, a clerk projects a tab () on the pull-open portion of the lid through a slot () in the pull-open portion of the base, and then presses down the entire trapping portion of the lid into the trapping portion of the base. The lid cannot be lifted up because the tear-open barrier () forming the top wall of the slot lies over the tab. To open the container, a person must tear the barrier so he/she can pull up the taband open the lid. The fact that the barrier has been torn is obvious.

A tamper-evident container has a lid () that can be opened only by lifting and pulling a tab (). Pulling of the tab breaks a breakable joint (, FIG.) that connects the tab () to a hold-down () that is fixed to the lid, so when the tab is released from the hold-down the tab springs up (FIG.) to an upward incline J to indicate that the container was opened.

A tamper-evident rigid plastic food container system wherein the outer periphery of the mating surfaces of the lid and tray are permanently bonded together after the food product has been placed in the tray, a set of perforated rows at an inner periphery, the interconnect of which needs to be torn in order to open the lid. Intentional, inadvertent, or malicious ingress into the container can only be made by tearing at the perforations and thereby evidencing the potential tampering and contamination of the packaging contents. The lid and tray edges may further include mechanical interference fits, including snap-fit grips that may be of the releasably lockable kind to permit sealing, release, and re-sealing multiple times without deterioration in reliability, and which can further prevent or minimize leakage of liquid food product.

Versatile tamper-evident food container

Multi-compartmentalized container system includes a container having a lid member and a tray member. The lid member includes a plurality of first recesses formed on a bottom surface of the lid member and opening in a first direction, a membrane disposed over the first recesses to retain contents of the first recesses, and at least one second recess formed on an opposite surface to the bottom surface of the lid member and opening in a second direction opposite the first direction. The lid member is releasably lockable to the tray member by placing the bottom surface of the lid member toward the tray member.

A food container formed of a single sheet of plastic, which includes a cup (), a cover () that is movable between open and closed positions on the cup top, and a container () that is movable between a stowed position in the cup and an unstowed position out of the cup. The cup has a cup flange () and the container has a container flange () that is pivotally connected to the cup flange along a pivot line () that can be torn to separate the container from the cup. The cover is pivotally connected to the cup top at the cover flange, and the container has a lift tab () that lies on the cover flange. The container has a side wall that forms a vertical channel () on its outside for passing a straw into liquid in the cup.

A cake container having a base () and a transparent cover () lying over the base, both being constructed of heat-formed plastic sheets, with peripheries of the base and cover securely latched together in a way that avoids sudden movement during unlatching. The base has a largely vertical peripheral wall () forming a plurality of dimples (), and the cover has a lower peripheral wall () with a plurality of dimple-receiving regions (). Each dimple-receiving region includes a chimney () that receives a dimple until the dimple lies at the top portion () of the chimney. The cover then can be turned so the dimple enters a dimple-receiving cavity () that prevents the cover from moving up off the base until the cover is turned back. The cover has a plurality of vertical ribs () forming wide panels () and forming narrow panels () between the wide panels. Stickers () adhere to peripheries of the cover and base to show the customer that there has been no tampering.

A clam-shell container system can include first and second container pieces that are hingedly connected. The first container piece can include a perimeter and a hangable tab, the hangable tab having an opening configured to receive a rod. The hinge connection can be perforated, such that it breaks upon actuation of the hangable tab to open the container system. The second container piece can include a cutout in proximity to the hinge connection and the hangable tab. Accordingly, the cutout can provide clearance for the rotation of the hangable tab beyond the hinge connection. Further, the second container piece can have a perimeter having a shape substantially similar to the perimeter of the first container piece. The perimeters can form a substantial seal in combination.

Hangable tamper resistant packaging system

A container having a base, a lid, and a tamper-evident, closed band. The base includes a sealing section and defines a space and an opening at a periphery that has an outwardly extending base flange with a contact surface. The lid has a lid sealing section and an outwardly extending lid flange having a contact surface. The base sealing section and the lid sealing section form a reclosable snap fit. The lid and base flanges can also include a removed portion to create an increased distance between contact surfaces on the lid and base flanges. The tamper-evident, closed band can attach at a first end to one of the base and lid, with a free second end, can be substantially detachable from the base or lid as a closed band, and can also extend to substantially prevent direct manual access to the lid and base flanges.

A molding apparatus can include a primary mold, a stripper, and a swinging member. The swinging member can comprise a molding surface defining an undercut portion of a molded item. The swinging member can directly contact or attached to the stripper and the primary mold. To facilitate removal of a molded item, the swinging member can withdraw through a hole in the primary mold as a direct result of a motion of the stripper to pull the molded item off the primary mold. The molded item can then be easily removed.
