A cord winding mechanism for an electrically powered device such as a vacuum cleaner. The cord winding mechanism may be used with a device having an electric motor. The mechanism may include a cord receiving member for receiving a cord. The cord receiving member may define an interior space and have an axis. The mechanism may include a biasing member that may transmit a rotational force to the cord receiving member to rotate the cord receiving member about the axis. The mechanism may include a retention member that may selectively prevent the cord receiving member from rotating under the rotational force of the biasing member. The cord receiving member may be adapted to receive at least part of the motor inside the interior space of the cord receiving member. The mechanism may include ventilation openings for providing ventilation An electric motor assembly may include the mechanism and a motor. An electric appliance may include a housing and the assembly.

A device for generating and supplying steam is provided. The device has a body, a steam generation unit, a first side panel attached to the body, a second side panel attached to the body, a power cord attached to the steam generation unit, a supply hose for supplying the steam from the steam generation unit to a point of use of the steam, a first wrapping location formed between the body and the first side panel, and a second wrapping location formed between the body and the second side panel. The first wrapping location is for wrapping the power cord for storage, and the second wrapping location is for wrapping the supply hose for storage.

A steam generation apparatus is set forth including a housing; a boiler adapted to generate steam within the housing; a filler cap adapted to be removably coupled to the boiler; a first pressure relief device coupled to the boiler adapted to release steam at a first pressure level; and a second pressure relief device coupled to the boiler adapted to release the steam at a second pressure level, where the second pressure level is higher than the first pressure level, the first pressure relief device is incorporated into and is made to vent into the filler cap, and the second pressure relief device is made to vent internally to the housing.
