A heat exchanger tube cleaning assembly and method is provided. The assembly can allow for semi-automated tube cleaning of a heat exchanger or other piping or equipment used in an industrial facility such as, for example, a petrochemical plant or oil refinery.

Semi-automated heat exchanger tube cleaning assembly and method

A storage apparatus for one or more cleaning lances is provided. The storage apparatus can be utilized in connection with a driving apparatus that controls the cleaning movements of a cleaning lance with respect to certain industrial equipment such as a heat exchanger. The driving apparatus can be utilized to feed an additional length of the cleaning lance to the tubes of exchanger or to retract the cleaning lance from the tubes of the exchanger. The storing apparatus can be utilized to store the cleaning lance, regulate the distribution and movement of the cleaning lance, and prevent tangling or snagging of the cleaning lance during the cleaning process.

Storage apparatus for cleaning lance

A surface cleaning and material removal system allows for the cleaning of applied or built-up coatings, debris, and any other matter from a surface. The surface cleaning and removal system includes a housing having a base with a wall extending obliquely therefrom. The base and wall define a cavity which covers the specific portion of the surface to be cleaned at that very moment, although the system is typically on wheels or portably movable so as to clean a very large surface in incremental portions. The system also includes a high-pressure-fluid mechanism for providing a high or ultra high pressure fluid flow against the surface to be cleaned where the mechanism includes either brushes or high pressure jets from which ultra high pressure water flows. In addition, the system includes a vacuum for moving all of the cleaning fluid and coatings, debris and any other matter from the cavity. In at least some of the embodiments, the system includes flexible members, seals, or brushes about the periphery of the walls extending obliquely from the base so as to better seal the cavity while still allowing for movement over the surface to be cleaned. In addition, more than one flexible member, seal or plurality of bristles or brushes may be present thereby defining a circumferential chamber therebetween which is fluidly connected to both the interior cavity and the environment so as to provide a better vacuum for better assuring that all of the cleaning fluids and coatings, debris, and any other matter are removed from the cavity and do not leak therefrom.

High pressure cleaning and removal system

A method of cleaning surfaces so as to remove dirt, buildup, paint, asbestos, coating materials, or any other buildup or layer from the surface using a high fluid pressure cleaning for removing coatings and buildup from hard, often porous, and generally unpermeable surfaces such as brick, concrete, limestone, masonry, stone, asphalt, etc. Specifically, the method of surface cleaning involves high pressure water dispensation, or non-caustic chemical and then high pressure water dispensation via a number of different sized, shaped, and usage housings that include at least one rotating jet for applying the high pressure cleaning water that thereafter vacuumed out of the housing after cleaning by a high suction vacuum where the housing includes one or more rows of annular or peripheral sealing means such as brushes, rubber seals, rubber wipers, or other similar flexible yet sealing instruments. The housing is moved along the surface to be cleaned which in the case of a building is vertically up and down a track, while also being moved horizontally from a cleaned path to a non-cleaned but to be cleaned path.

Method of high pressure cleaning

A door operator for a reversibly operable door, such as a garage door includes a frame, a motor on the frame, a flexible drive member connected to the motor, and a carriage is mounted for movement along the frame. The carriage moves generally parallel to a portion of the frame and is attached to the door to open and close the door by movement of the carriage along the frame. The carriage can be selectively engaged and disengaged from the flexible drive member using an actuating member extending from the carriage. The carriage and the flexible drive member are engaged and disengaged upon successive motions of the actuating member in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of travel of the carriage. The same motion of the actuating member is used to both engage and disengage the mechanism, with successive actions performing the engagement and the disengagement, so that it is not necessary for the user to memorize a complicated engagement or disengagement procedure in order to perform the operation. The mechanism may include a lever bar that provides leverage to the engaging and disengaging action, so that the force applied by the user to the vertically extending actuating member is increased to overcome any resistance resulting from the load on the carriage. The carriage may be adapted for use with an enclosed rail or frame extension and may be comprised of multiple parts that may be disassembled, permitting the carriage to be removed from the frame at any location and eliminating the need for removal of the carriage only through the end of the frame.

Drive mechanism engaging means for garage door operator

A door operator for a reversibly operable door, such as a garage door, includes a frame and a carriage movably mounted on the frame and attached to a door for moving the door between open and closed positions. A flexible drive member, such as an endless chain, extends on the frame and is capable of moving the carriage. A drive train is on the frame connected for moving the flexible drive member. A motor housing is mounted on the frame within the motor housing and connected to the drive train. The motor has a shaft extending from the motor housing and engaging the drive train. A bearing assembly that includes metal thrust bearings is on the shaft adjacent to the motor. The metal thrust bearing assembly increases the performance of the electric motor, and thus provides a more powerful motor without changing to a larger motor or otherwise modifying the motor design. The motor is mounted on the frame so as to allow the shaft freely to move axially relative to the motor to permit the shaft to self-align. The rotor thus seeks its position of least resistance and maintains this position without manual adjustment, providing an improvement in motor performance.
