Disclosed herein are preconnectorized cable assemblies and methods of making using a pull string. One embodiment of the disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a distribution cable assembly using a pull string fed through a jacket of a distribution cable. Subunit cables are attached to the pull string through openings in the jacket of the distribution cable, and then pulled, via the pull string, through the jacket until drawn through a distribution end opening of the jacket. Another embodiment relates to a distribution cable assembly including junction shells covering side openings in the jacket. The junction shell includes a first half shell attached to a second half shell by a fastener. The first half shell includes stops proximate ends of a side opening to fix the junction shell along an axis of the jacket.

Preconnectorized distribution cable assemblies and methods of making using a pull string

An interconnect system is provided that involves pre-installing a connector housing an optical connector in an adapter and a ferrule of the same optical connector on a cable. The ferrule terminates one or more groups of optical fibers, and a ferrule push component is also pre-installed on the same group(s) of optical fibers. The connector housing is configured to receive and retain the ferrule and ferrule push component without being removed from the adapter to simultaneously form the optical connector and install the optical connector in the adapter. Embodiments such an interconnect system involving high fiber-count cables and related installation methods involving many optical connections are disclosed.

Interconnect system and methods of installing the same

High-connection density and bandwidth fiber optic apparatuses and related equipment and methods are disclosed. In certain embodiments, fiber optic apparatuses are provided and comprise a chassis defining one or more U space fiber optic equipment units. At least one of the one or more U space fiber optic equipment units may be configured to support particular fiber optic connection densities and bandwidths in a given 1-U space. The fiber optic connection densities and bandwidths may be supported by one or more fiber optic components, including but not limited to fiber optic adapters and fiber optic connectors, including but not limited to simplex, duplex, and other multi-fiber fiber optic components. The fiber optic components may also be disposed in fiber optic modules, fiber optic patch panels, or other types of fiber optic equipment.

High density and bandwidth fiber optic apparatuses and related equipment and methods

A fiber optic cable assembly comprises: a cable jacket; distinct groups of optical fibers carried within the cable jacket and extending beyond a first end of the cable jacket; a furcation body positioned on the first end of the cable jacket such that the distinct groups of optical fibers have respective fiber end sections extending beyond the furcation body; and a pulling grip assembly protecting the fiber end sections. The pulling grip assembly includes a pulling band releasably secured to the cable jacket by a clamp, and is configured to withstand significant tensile loads despite being easily removable.

Fiber optic cable assembly with pulling grip assembly and related methods

Fiber optic equipment that supports independently translatable fiber optic modules and/or fiber optic equipment trays containing one or more fiber optic modules is disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more fiber optic modules are disposed in a plurality of independently translatable fiber optic equipment trays which are received in a tray guide system. In this manner, each fiber optic equipment tray is independently translatable within the guide system. One or more fiber optic modules may also be disposed in one or more module guides disposed in the fiber optic equipment trays to allow each fiber optic module to translate independently of other fiber optic modules in the same fiber optic equipment tray. In other embodiments, a plurality of fiber optic modules are disposed in a module guide system disposed in the fiber optic equipment that translate independently of other fiber optic modules disposed within the module guide system.

Independently translatable modules and fiber optic equipment trays in fiber optic equipment

An interconnect system for a building includes a pre-terminated trunk cable assembly that has different groups of optical fibers carried by subunits and terminated by ferrules. The interconnect system also includes trays for managing interconnections with the ferrules. A plurality of adapters are disposed on each tray and arranged in a direction along a longitudinal axis of the tray. The adapters may be oriented at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis to facilitate routing of the optical fibers. At least one tray mount receiver may also be provided on each tray to cooperate with a tray mount that can secure a select subunit to the tray.

Bi-directional data center architectures employing a jacketless trunk cable are disclosed. The bi-directional data center architecture includes first and second coupling panels respectively having first adapters and second adapters. The architecture also includes a plurality of sub-racks having sub-rack adapters, and a jacketless trunk cable that includes a plurality of sub-unit sections, with each sub-unit section carrying one or more optical fibers. The plurality of sub-unit sections are configured to optically connect corresponding first and second adapters of the first and second coupling panels to the sub-rack adapters such that every optical fiber in each sub-unit section is used to establish an optical connection.
