A tie article has a substantially elongated configuration having opposed first and second longitudinal edges. The tie article includes a base layer, a cover layer, a closure device, an adhesive and an extension. The base layer includes a central segment and two arm segments, each of the arm segments extending from opposing sides of the central segment. The cover layer overlaps the base layer. The closure device is sandwiched between the base layer and the cover layer so that the base layer and cover layer are bonded together around the closure device. The adhesive is disposed on the central segment of the base layer. The extension is of either or both of the base layer and cover layer and extends beyond at least one of the first and second longitudinal edges. A method is described for attaching a second item to a first item with a tie article.

A tie article that includes an attachment portion and a bib portion, where the bib portion includes at least one arm segment and at least one closure device (e.g., a retention wire, tin tie, clasp tie, and the like), where the attachment portion and the bib portion are integrally fabricated from a printed sheet having a first surface and a polymeric film adhered to the first surface of the printed sheet such that the closure device(s) is disposed between the first surface of the printed sheet and the polymeric film at the attachment portion. A labelling tie () includes a tie portion (), a wire assembly (), and a bib portion () connected to the tie portion. The tie portion () has a first arm (-R), a mid-segment, and a second arm (-L). Spaced apart perforations () intersect each of the first and second arms. The wire assembly () has a retention wire () that spans across the first arm, the mid-segment, and the second arm. A sheet of labelling ties () includes separably connected labelling ties. A method attaches a labelling tie to an item or a group of items. The method includes wrapping the first arm (-R) and second arm (-L) around at least one object ('), allowing the first and second arms to meet at a location with a portion of the first arm and a portion of the second arm extending past the location, and twisting the first and second arm portions together, thereby securing the tie portion around the object(s).

Wireless polymeric twist tie

The twist tie article permits simultaneous banding and tagging of merchandise and has a twist tie for banding about merchandise and a tag comprised of an information portion for displaying printed matter and an attachment portion for attaching the tag to itself after encircling the tag about a section of the twist tie. The tag is formed of water resistant sheet material folded along the boundary between the information and attachment portions with the portions extending from the fold in an approximately parallel orientation. The attachment portion is bonded to the information portion, with the twist tie situated between the information and attachment portions and between the fold and the bond. The tag is thereby securely and reliably attached about the twist tie without need for relying upon the formation of a bond between the tag and the twist tie.
