A window retention system includes a door frame having an exterior panel, an interior panel, an opening therethrough defining an inner peripheral channel, the exterior panel includes an upright portion extending along the channel so as to be directed toward the interior panel; and a resiliently flexible window retainer strip yieldably interlocked with and thereby detachably mounted on the door frame. The retainer strip has a longitudinal axis and a first upright portion spaced from and in opposing relation with the upright portion of the exterior panel so as to delimit a first track in the channel and retain the window element therein. The strip includes a second upright portion laterally spaced from the first upright portion. The second upright portion is biased towards and yieldingly interlocks with the channel. A flange extends from the first upright portion of the strip to engage one of the door frame panels and thereby secure the first upright portion of the strip against rotation in a vertical plane. The retainer strip can be adapted to achieve full view, self-storing, and triple track window mountings in a variety of door frames, some of which utilize snap-in liners.

A hinge-emulating gap concealing strip for a door includes an elongated strip having an length generally corresponding to the length of the hinge assembly. The strip has a generally J-shaped cross-section. The strip includes a straight portion adapted mount on the side edge panel of the door, adjacent the gap that normally exists between a side edge panel and the frame or Z bar attached thereto. The strip has an arcuate portion extending forwarding and outwardly from the straight portion. The arcuate portion extends over the gap so as to form a generally convex arch which protrudes outwardly beyond the exterior panel of the door and resembles the convex arch of the hinge assembly. The straight portion of the strip is attached to the side edge panel. Thus, the hinge-emulating gap concealing the strip spans the gap with a strip that emulates the appearance of the hinge to as to enhance the symmetry of the installed door. Brush strips can also be mounted on the J-shaped strip.

A vented glass door includes a rectangular frame having a glass window fitted in the center thereof. At least one air passageway is provided commencing at the rear surface of the frame members, and passing through the frame members themselves and outwardly through an outlet opening at the edges of the frame members.

A glazing seal is used in combination with a rectangular door frame and a rectangular window frame. The door frame includes a window opening and the window frame is fitted within the window opening. The window frame surrounds a sheet of glass having a perimetric edge. The sealing member has a first portion extending around the perimetric edge of the glass and sealingly engaging the edge of the glass and the window frame. The sealing member also has a second portion thereof fitted between the window frame and the door frame to provide a substantially airtight seal there between.
