Methods of making multilayer glass structure are described. The method involves providing first and second glass sheets, and a first enamel composition layer and at least one separation layer between the first and second glass sheets, and firing the glass sheets to sinter the first enamel composition to the first glass sheet. The separation layer is a black pigment separation layer, a refractory material separation layer, or an oxidizer separation layer. The separation layer can improve separation of the first and second glass sheets after the firing.

Conductive paste with improved performance in glass strength

An acrylate-based curable printing medium is disclosed. Acrylates, in the form of monomers, dimers, trimers and oligomers, as well as resins, form an interpenetrating polymer network by crosslinking, which is effected by heat, and optionally peroxide curing agents. Formulations can be tailored to achieve desired properties of the cured polymer including film hardness, burnout properties, and adhesion to glass. Such properties are adjusted by manipulating the relative proportions of the acrylic monomers, oligomers and resins that are used as a ceramic medium or vehicle.

Curable acrylate based printing medium

A silver conductive coating possessing infrared absorbing properties is disclosed. The coating is made from a blend of one or more micron size silver powders and/or flakes together with carbon black, inorganic pigment, glass frit, and powdered selenium or bismuth metal. The foregoing dry ingredients are pasted with an organic vehicle, applied to a substrate, and fired at a temperature of up to 1400&#xb0; F. The coating absorbs infrared radiation beyond the decomposition of carbon black, thus allowing higher firing temperatures and hence shorter firing times.

Ultra low-emissivity (ultra low E) silver coating

The present invention provides a method of making a decorated multilayer glass structure using a single firing step that includes that use of a crystallizing glass enamel composition that contains ingredients to ensure the complete burnout of the organic portion of the composition upon firing and bending of a mated pair of glass sheets. A benefit of the composition is that when applied to one sheet of a mated pair of glass sheets, it burns out completely during firing and bending of the pair. The presence of high levels of oxidizers in the composition ensures a supply of oxygen to enable combustion of the organic vehicle while firing the glass sheets and prior to the sintering of the enamel composition to only one glass sheet in a mated pair of decorated or colored glass sheets.

Method of making staged burnout enamels for second surface firing of multilayer glass structures

An improved medium for use in preparing ceramic coating compositions. The improvement resides in the employment of pantothenol as a rheology modifier in the medium.
