A system for environmental maintenance includes a vacuum unit, an air purifier unit, a controller communicatively connected to the vacuum unit and the air purifier unit, a sweep sensor communicatively connected to the controller, and a movement sensor communicatively connected to the controller. The sweep sensor detects debris and sweeper swept into a detectable vicinity of the sweep sensor and the controller turns on the vacuum unit upon detection by the sweep sensor. The controller turns on the air purifier unit upon the vacuum unit being turned on, and the air purifier unit cycles on for a period as programmed in the controller. The movement sensor detects movement in detectable vicinity of the movement sensor and the controller turns on the air purifier unit upon detection by the sweep sensor, if the air purifier is not already turned on.

Combination vacuum and air purifier system and method

A system includes a vacuum canister combinable as a unit with a segregated trash bin. The vacuum canister is connected to a vacuum motor for drawing fines and particulates to the vacuum canister. The segregated trash bin retains refuse separate from the fines and particulates of the vacuum canister. The vacuum canister sealingly contains the fines and particulates from vacuuming. Debris larger than the vacuumed fines and particulates is depositable in the segregated trash bin separated from the fines and particulates.

Vacuum canister system and method

A system for environmental maintenance includes a vacuum unit, an air purifier unit, a controller communicatively connected to the vacuum unit and the air purifier unit, a sweep sensor communicatively connected to the controller, and a movement sensor communicatively connected to the controller. The sweep sensor detects debris swept into a detectable vicinity of the sweep sensor and the controller turns on the vacuum unit upon detection by the sweep sensor. The controller turns on the air purifier unit upon the vacuum unit being turned on, and the air purifier unit cycles on for a period as programmed in the controller. The movement sensor detects movement in detectable vicinity of the movement sensor and the controller turns on the air purifier unit upon detection by the sweep sensor, if the air purifier is not already turned on.

A vertically adjustable double end bag system includes a double end bag connected to a tether. The tether may be a continuous cord o two connected cords, and may be flexible or substantially fixed length. The double end bag includes an adjuster mechanism for selectively positioning the bag. A support, such as may be connected to a door or other upright fixture or as may be free-standing via a base, connects to and suspends the tether.

A zero gravity chaise chair includes a seat frame providing a head rest, a back, a bottom and a leg rest, a first bow member connected to one side of the seat frame, a second bow member connected to the other side of the seat frame, a first rolling guide connected to the first bow, a second rolling guide connected to the second bow, and a base connected to the first rolling guide and the second rolling guide. A motor may operate the first rolling guide to vary incline position of the seat frame. The motor may be algorithmically controlled to vary incline position of the seat frame such as to aid blood flow and minimize pressure points of a body positioned on the seat frame.

Zero gravity chaise chair systems and method

A method of making a corrosion-resistant string for a musical instrument. The method improves the core wire-to-wrap wire bond by using a bond coating between the core and wrap wires that preferably also minimizes the galvanic activity between them. The bondable coating is applied to the core or wrap wires, or both. In one embodiment the method entails creating a coated core wire by annealing bare core wire, bathing the bare core wire in a bondable coating material and removing any excess, drying the bondable coating, making the string using the bondable-coated core wire, and reflowing the bondable coating. In another embodiment the method entails additionally coating the wrap wire with a coating that does not reflow under the same conditions as the bondable coating on the core wire, and winding the coated wrap wire around the bondable-coated core wire before reflowing the bondable coating.

Corrosion-resistant wound musical string

A system for supporting a portable electronic device atop a surface includes a planar back side having a top and a bottom for resting on the surface in use, a front side having an upper edge connected to the top of the planar back side, forming an angle between the planar back side and the front side, and a bottom edge, and a cupped bottom connected to the bottom edge, the cupped bottom extending from the front side opposite the angle, and the cupped bottom for resting on the surface in use. The portable electronic device, in use with the system, rests on the cupped bottom and against the front side. An opening formed in the front side and an opening formed in the back side accommodate a cord of the portable electronic device. The back side includes a retainer for the cord.

Portable device support and organizer system and method

A boxing or martial arts training and exercise device may include punching pads locationally displaced on a frame. Respective pads may be positioned in support on the frame for punching and kicking. Each pad can communicatively connect to one or more impact sensor. Each impact sensor can communicatively connect to a control unit. The control unit may be communicatively connected to a display. The impact sensor detects strikes to the pad. The impact sensor includes an accelerometer and a signal processor. The control unit includes an aggregator for receiving and logging strike metrics. The control unit directs sequences in the display according to a routine, and delivers indicators of strike metrics. The control unit includes a user interface for selection among sequences, as well as for selection of various menu items. A video of a human instructor or an animated avatar is viewable in a display.

Interactive system and method for boxing and martial arts

A boxing or martial arts training and/or exercise device includes one or more punching pads locationally displaced and supported on a frame. Respective pads are positioned in support on the frame for punching and kicking. Each pad communicatively connects to one or more impact sensor. Each impact sensor communicatively connects to a control unit. The control unit is communicatively connected to a display. The impact sensor detects touches and taps to the pad and signals the control unit of the detection. Responsive to the detection, the control unit directs sequences shown in the display according to a fighting sequence, a training sequence, or other sequence. The control unit includes a user interface for selection among sequences, as well as for selection of various menu items for the respective types of sequences.

Boxing and martial arts fight, trainer, and game system and method

A vacuum device has a housing. The housing forms an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The housing also forms a viewable compartment for retaining refuse vacuumed by the device. A vacuum motor is located in the housing. The vacuum motor has a suction inlet and a vent outlet. The suction inlet is connected to the viewable compartment. The suction inlet is also connected to the inlet opening of the housing. The vent outlet of the vacuum motor is to the outlet opening of the housing. An electric circuit of the device is connected to the vacuum motor. The electric circuit is connected to a sensor and includes a microcontroller. The sensor, for example, an infrared beam and detector, triggers the electric circuit, and programmed control by the microcontroller, when the beam is broken and not detected by the detector. When the beam is broken, the sensor signals the microcontroller and the microcontroller logically powers-on the vacuum motor to suction the refuse into the housing.

Automated electronic vacuum system and method

A system for cleaning includes a handle and a head having a cleaning surface. The head is connected to the handle and is extendable to selectively widen or narrow the cleaning surface. A gear is fixedly connected to the handle and rotatingly connected to the head, so that twist of the handle rotates the gear. A first series of extension gears operably connect to the gear, and a second series of extension gears also operably connect to the gear. Rotation of the gear via the handle, rotates the first series and the second series. A first head extension is operably connected to the first series, such that rotation of the first series swings the first head extension into laterally aligned extension of the head. A second head extension is operably connected to the second series, such that rotation of the second series swings the second head extension also into laterally aligned extension of the head. In such manner, twist of the handle rotates the gear, causing the first series and the second series to rotate, thereby swinging the first and second head extensions into laterally extended alignment in order to selectively widen (and conversely narrow) the cleaning surface of the head.

Extendable improved cleaning system and method

A novel multi-layer stretch film comprising at least 7 layers and having excellent mechanical properties and stretch film performance, comprising two outer, or skin layers that have moderate to high controlled cling and low blocking characteristics, and at least five internal layers to assist in producing mechanical strength and stretchability. The resins used in the film composition include polypropylene (PP), ethylene propylene copolymers, low density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), medium density polyethylene (MDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE), metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene (mPE), very low density polyethylene (VLDPE), and/or ultralow density polyethylene (ULDPE). The resins also may be blended to achieve a desired range of physical or mechanical properties of the final film product.
