A composite toy robot that may be assembled from five individual lion-like vehicles. Each of the vehicles has a hollow body with an openable portion for receiving a toy figure within the body and a pivotal head. Four legs are attached to the body for pivotal movement from an extended position in which the body is supportable on a surface to a retracted position. In addition, each body has an elongated tail mounted for pivotal movement relative to the body. One of the lion-like vehicles forms the torso of the composite toy robot and the limbs of this vehicle are substantially within a respective hip or shoulder joint in the retracted position. The tail of each of the arm and leg forming vehicles has a notch adjacent the end that is received in the hip or shoulder joint of the torso vehicle so that pivotal movement of the respective leg of the torso vehicle into the retracted position retains the tail. Each of the legs of the torso vehicle has an exposed side with an indentation to facilitate moving the legs back out of the retracted tail locking position.

Composite toy vehicle assembly

A counting device with ball actuated, aligned, rotatable indicating elements is disclosed that is particularly useful as a clock. The device includes a plurality of indicating elements rotatable around parallel axes, arranged side by side in three columns. Each indicating element includes a display portion and a ball actuated flange, mounted on a common axle with the flanges of adjacent elements in each column forming a ball conveying track. The elements are successively rotated to the upward display position by a ball whose continued presence atop an element's flange causes an appropriate rotation of that element. The balls are continuously recycled by a synchronous motor elevator which collects the balls at their lowest position and returns them to their highest position in communication with the ball conveying tracks. After all of the indicating elements in a column have been raised to their display position, the ball resets the first rotated element causing it to reset the adjacent elements. In this way the elements are returned to their downward position by a domino effect.

An animated action toy in the form of a prehistoric bird comprises a hollow body having a head at one end and a tail at the opposite end adapted for use in holding the toy in the hand for manipulation thereof. A pair of flappable wings are mounted on the body for control by a trigger. A beak is formed on the head including a beak member which is movably mounted to open and close and when so activated an internal sound generator is operated to produce a cackling sound. The bird includes a pair of talons extending from the underside of the body and each includes a plurality of claws which are manually controlled for gripping and releasing external objects.
