A golf club head adapted for attachment to a shaft is provided. The head includes a first portion that forms an integral face and neck, with the neck having a keyed section. A second portion of the club head provides a body with a crown region and a sole region, the crown region including a keyway. A third portion is also provided in the form of a hosel tube with a top end being configured and dimensioned to receive the shaft. The hosel tube is received in the neck and fixed thereto. The first portion is fixed to the body to form a cavity, with the keyed section mating with the keyway.

Golf club head construction

A golf club or set of golf clubs include a sole having four surfaces: a bottom crescent surface, a positive bounce surface, a heel surface and a toe surface. The bottom crescent surface has a generally straight back boundary approximate the trailing edge and a curved front boundary. Moreover, the bottom crescent surface is substantially flat with the ground when the club addressed by the player.

Golf club sole configuration

A target for practicing golf strokes is provided, the target formed of a substantially circular member. The member includes a ramp portion with an outer edge and an inner edge, and a substantially flat central portion disposed within the inner edge of the ramp portion. The member also includes a plurality of stake holes, at least one elongate hole, and a plurality of alignment indicia. At least one of the alignment indicia is disposed about a diameter of the member. A flat edge may extend along a portion of the outer edge.

A metal wood golf club head adapted for attachment to a shaft is disclosed, including a shell defining a body and further including a face. The face of the club head has exterior and interior surfaces disposed such that the exterior surface has a vertical roll radius that is less than the vertical roll radius of the interior surface. The face may also have a horizontal bulge radius of the exterior surface that is less than the horizontal bulge radius of the interior surface. A central thickened region may be provided on the interior surface.

A golf club is provided which includes a metal wood club head with a hosel receiving tube that extends from the neck to the sole, and a hosel configured and dimensioned to be received in the hosel receiving tube. The club shaft is received in a bore in the hosel, which may be oriented to produce a desired lie angle and loft. The hosel has an oblong and tapered geometry and is insertable into the tube bore from the sole. The hosel may positively engage the club head, and a ferrule also may be included.

A golf club head, wherein the head comprises a front striking face, a back plate, a toe wall, a heel wall, and a sole plate, configured to form an interior cavity; a hosel and a bore for receiving a shaft; at least one chamber formed inside the interior cavity by a plurality of wall members and one of the front striking face, back plate, toe wall, heel wall, and sole plate; a weight member disposed within the chamber; and a filler material juxtaposed the weight member and the wall members forming the cavity such that the weight member is isolated from the wall members and is securely held within the chamber.

Hollow golf club

The present invention relates to a golf club head casting provided with an internal perimetral welt about the club face. During the club head casting process, the thermomechanical behavior of the casting allows differential cooling across the club face. The face cools at a different rate than the welt, thereby allowing the exterior surface of the face to be maintained in a generally convex shape. Thus, a close-tolerance casting that conforms to preselected face tolerance specifications may be produced.

A wax pattern mold and molding process are disclosed for forming a wax pattern of a hollow, thin walled object, in particular, a golf club head. A mold is provided in at least two halves defining a mold cavity. A core made up of a plurality of interfitted parts is placed in the mold to precisely define the thin walls. The core and mold are provided with a registration channel such that the core is properly registered in the cavity to ensure dimensional integrity of the thin walls. Pins, holes, slots, and fingers are provided to lock the core parts together while the wax pattern is formed and to permit the core parts to be disassembled through an opening in the mold without separating the mold halves.

A golf club head includes a plurality of exterior walls which define a hollow interior cavity. The golf club head further includes an interior wall structure extending from one of the walls into the interior cavity. The interior wall structure defines a chamber therein. The chamber contains a flowable weighted material and a lighter weight flowable filler material. Both the weighted and the filler materials can be inserted and removed from the chamber through an aperture in the wall.
