A covering for an architectural covering is provided. The covering may include a rotatable outer roller, a rotatable inner roller, a first shade secured to the outer roller, and a second shade secured to the inner roller. The outer roller may define an elongated slot extending along a length of the outer roller and opening to an interior of the outer roller. The inner roller may be received within the outer roller and may define a central longitudinal axis. The first shade may be retractable onto and extendable from the outer roller. The second shade may extend through the elongated slot and may be retractable onto and extendable from the inner roller. The elongated slot may be substantially horizontally aligned with the central longitudinal axis of the inner roller when the first shade is in a fully extended position.

Covering for an architectural opening having nested rollers

A retractable covering for an architectural opening includes a headrail in which a control system is mounted and a fabric suspended from the headrail. The fabric is mounted to be moved laterally between a rolled up retracted position and an extended position across the architectural opening. At least one roller about which the fabric can be wrapped is mounted at an end of the headrail for rotation about a vertical axis, and the system includes a flexible control element that is substantially horizontally disposed for moving the covering between extended and retracted positions.

Roll-up retractable covering for architectural openings

A covering for an architectural opening is provided. The covering may include an outer roller, an inner roller received within the outer roller, a first shade secured to and adapted to be wrapped around the outer roller, and a second shade secured to and adapted to be wrapped around the inner roller. The outer roller may define an elongated slot through which the second shade extends and retracts. Opposite ends of the inner roller may be aligned with corresponding ends of the outer roller. A mounting system may support the inner and outer rollers for rotative movement about a central longitudinal axis of the inner roller. A bottom rail of the second shade may engage the outer roller when the second shade is in the fully retracted position. Rotation of the inner roller when the second shade is in a retracted position may cause rotation of the outer roller.

Covering for an architectural opening

Cord tensioning systems are provided for top down/bottom up coverings to prevent entanglement of lift cords about associated wrap spools by correlating rotation of the wrap spools with translating threaded nuts mounted on threaded shafts rotating in unison with the wrap spools whereby abutment of nuts associated with lift spools prevent over movement of rails associated with the spools and thus entanglement of the lift cords associated therewith.

Cord tension control for top down/bottom up covering for architectural openings

A horizontally retractable covering for an architectural opening includes a headrail supporting a collapsible panel of material, a fixed rail securable to a side of the architectural opening and to a side edge of the panel, and a movable rail secured to the opposite side of the panel while being movable along the length of the headrail. An improved trolley connecting the top end of the movable rail to the headrail is provided so as to permit uniform gathering of the panel material along the horizontal extent of the trolley for improved aesthetics when the panel is fully extended across the architectural opening. A stabilizing cord system maintains a parallel relationship of the movable rail to the fixed rail to assure desired movement of the movable rail while permitting the aforenoted uniform gathering of the panel material.

Retractable covering for doorways, archways, and the like

A control system for a top down/bottom up covering for an architectural opening includes a common drive shaft for raising and lowering a middle rail and a bottom rail between which a flexible shade material extends. A control element operates a spool lift system and a roller lift system, with the spool lift system being associated with the middle rail and the roller lift system being associated with the bottom rail. The lift systems are sequentially operated when the drive shaft is driven in either direction by the control element.

System for operating top down/bottom up covering for architectural openings

A mounting bracket for a covering for architectural openings such as windows, doors, archways, and the like, includes complementary components on the headrail and the mounting bracket to permit the head rail to be inserted into and automatically locked to the mounting bracket. A lock lever is provided with access forwardly of the head rail that automatically locks the head rail in position on the mounting bracket and conditions the mounting bracket for manual release of the headrail.

A nonretractable covering for architectural openings such as doors, windows, archways, or the like includes a covering fabric like material having pivotal vanes with the fabric like material being extended between upper and lower tilt bars with one of the upper lower tilt bars being an active tilt bar and the other a passive tilt bar which moves in response to the active tilt bar. Movement of the active tilt bar between opened and closed positions pivots the vanes between opened and closed positions while the fabric material remains extended across the architectural opening.
