A sunroof panel and sunshade assembly system includes a moveable sunroof panel operable to selectively move to a first closed position within a sunroof opening of a vehicle and a sunshade operable to selectively move to a second closed position within the sunroof opening. The sunshade includes a leading-edge portion and a spring force displacement member within the leading-edge portion of the sunshade, wherein the spring force displacement member is operable to deform when the sunshade contacts an obstruction while the sunshade is moving. The system further includes an electric machine providing motive force to the sunshade and a computerized sunroof panel and sunshade controller. The controller operates programming to monitor operation of the electric machine, determine a presence of the obstruction based upon the monitored operation, and command the electric machine to stop and reverse the sunshade based upon the determined presence.

Sunroof panel and sunshade assembly system and method

A window regulator may include a first guide rail assembly, that may be coupled to the door panel and including a first guide rail, a first pulley and a second pulley. The first slider may be configured to receive the window pane and translate along the first guide rail to move the window pane between an open position and a closed position. The first cable may be coupled to a drive and engaged with the first pulley and may be fixed to the first slider such that actuation of the drive moves the first slider and the window pane into the opening. The spring may be disposed between an end of the first cable and a portion of the first slider. The spring may be configured to bias the slider and an edge of the window pane towards the A-side beam or the B-side beam.

Window regulator assembly

A door inner support panel for a vehicle door assembly includes a header section with a window frame for receiving a windowpane. A shell section is attached to the header section and mounts to a door frame of a body of a vehicle. The shell section has a hardware frame for mounting a hardware module. The hardware frame includes: a mounting interface on the an inboard surface of the shell section for coupling to an outboard surface of the hardware module; a mounting interface on a flanged surface of the shell section for sealingly attaching to a peripheral surface of the hardware module; and a mounting interface on the outboard surface of the shell section for coupling to an inboard surface of the hardware frame. A method of making the door inner support panel is also disclosed.

Inner support panel for mounting a hardware module of a vehicle door assembly

A vehicle and a window assembly include a window movable between a closed and open position. The assembly includes an arm movable between a first and second position. The window is disposed in the closed position when the arm is in the first position and the window disposed in the open position when the arm is in the second position. The arm includes an extension fixed thereto such that the arm and the extension both move concurrently about a first pivot point. The assembly includes a connector coupled to the extension at a second pivot point. The arm is coupled to the window through the connector. The first and second pivot points are spaced from each other. The connector is coupled to the window such that movement of the arm moves the connector about the second pivot point which causes the window to move between the closed and open positions.

Window assembly and a vehicle

A system and method for controlling movement of a window in a vehicle door assembly h includes a window actuator operable to move a window relative to a window opening in the door between a first position and at least one second position. The controller is configured monitor the position of the window relative to the window frame and transmit at least one control signal to the window actuator to move the window relative to the window opening in response to activation of the one or more devices. The controller transmits a first control signal to the window actuator to move the window at a first speed in response to detection of a first activation state and a second control signal to the window actuator to move the window at a second speed that is reduced relative to the first speed in response to detection of a second activation state.

System and method of controlling a vehicle window assembly

A window assembly is disclosed for a vehicle having a window regulator rail and a window carrier configured to shift along the window regulator rail. The window assembly includes a glass panel having a mounting end and a clip assembly fixed to the mounting end of the glass panel. The clip assembly is configured to be fixed to the window carrier and includes a clip body defined by a first end configured to engage the window carrier and an opposing second end defining a channel. The clip assembly also includes a retainer arranged in the channel and configured to accept and position the glass panel mounting end inside the channel. The clip assembly additionally includes an adhesive configured to fill the channel and cure therein after the mounting end of the glass panel has been positioned inside the channel. A vehicle door having such a window assembly is also disclosed.

Vehicle window assembly

A vehicle and a door assembly each include an inner panel and an outer panel coupled to each other to define a door. A first handle is attached to the outer panel. A mirror apparatus is supported by the door and spaced apart from the first handle. A lock apparatus is supported by at least one of the door and the mirror apparatus. The lock apparatus is disposed closer to the mirror apparatus than the first handle.

Door assembly and a vehicle

A window regulator includes a guide and an elongated carrier attached to the guide. A drive cable is driven by an actuator to move the carrier relative to the guide. A support cable includes a first end that is attached to a forward edge of a window opening of a door structure. The support cable includes a second end that is attached to a lower end of the guide. A first direction control device is attached to and rotatably supported by the carrier, proximate to a forward edge of the window opening. A second direction control device is attached to and rotatably supported by the carrier, and is disposed rearward of the first direction control device, between the first direction control device and the guide. The support cable is engaged with and guided by the first direction control device and the second direction control device.

A method includes providing a vehicle door having an inner panel, an outer panel, and a bracket assembly. The inner panel and the outer panel cooperate to define a door cavity and a window opening. The bracket assembly is mounted with respect to the inner panel inside the door cavity. The method further includes inserting the division post into the door cavity through the window opening, and engaging the division post with the bracket assembly such that the bracket assembly secures the division post to the inner panel. A corresponding door assembly is also provided.

A door assembly includes an inner panel and an outer panel that cooperate to define a door cavity therebetween and a window frame that defines a window opening. The door assembly further includes a division post defining a glass run channel extending from the window opening into the door cavity. A bracket member is rotatably connected to the division post.

The link includes a first link end portion, a second link end portion opposite the first link end portion, a first sidewall disposed between the first link end portion and the second link end portion, a second sidewall disposed between the first link end portion and the second link end portion, and a link extension protruding from the second link end portion. The link extension is closer to the first sidewall than to the second sidewall. The housing is movably coupled to the link and is configured to move relative to the link between a first housing position and a second housing position. A snap-in glass carrier, engageable with a window regulator for snap fitting a door glass having a glass retention hole to the carrier, comprises a carrier base, a regulator attachment extending from the carrier base, a glass retention portion and a finger. The glass retention portion extends from the base spaced from the window regulator portion to define a gap for the glass. The finger, cantilevered from the base, includes a vertical portion extending parallel to the support finger on the same side of the glass as the support finger, a retention tab extending from the vertical portion into the gap that engages the retention hole, a hinge point adjacent to the glass carrier base and located on the same side of the gap as the window regulator attachment, and a spring leg extending through the gap from the hinge point to the vertical portion.

A locking rod flange and a vertical locking rod for a vehicle door, and method of assembling a vehicle door. The locking rod flange may be integral with a glass run channel or an integrated channel and regulator, and may include a locking rod carrier with a rod pass through hole through which the vertical locking rod extends. A rod pass through seal may be mounted on the locking rod carrier, and the locking rod carrier may include a bridge portion over which a water deflector seal is applied.

A latch set clip for use with a vehicle door and method of assembly are disclosed. The latch set clip may include a clip main body that mounts to a latch lever of a door latch assembly and a clip pivoting body that, with the main body, secures a lever rod to the latch set clip. The latch set clip may allow for components of a latch/window regulator module to be assembled before assembly into the vehicle door.
