A medical lead includes a lead body, a connector pin proximate to a proximal end of the lead body, a helix extending from a distal end of the lead body, an electrode proximate to the distal end of the lead body, and a cable conductor within the lead body and including an electrode proximate a distal end of the cable conductor, the cable conductor being slideable within the lead body to extend and retract the electrode relative to the distal end of the lead body.

Cardiac pacing lead

A medical lead includes a lead body, a lead body helix extending from a distal end of the lead body, wherein the lead body helix is configured to anchor to a patient tissue, and, a cable within the lead body, the cable including a cable conductor, a cable electrode proximate a distal end of the cable conductor, and a cable helix with a blunt tip at a distal end of the cable. The cable is slidable within the lead body to extend and retract the cable electrode along a trajectory extending from the distal end of the lead body.

Multielectrode medical lead with fixation

An example catheter includes a handle assembly having a control member, an elongate body, a pull wire, and at least one radiopaque marker. The elongate body defines a lumen configured to receive a medical electrical lead including at least one electrode array. The elongate body includes a proximal portion coupled to the handle assembly and a distal portion that includes an articulating segment and a preformed curve segment. The at least one radiopaque marker is positioned on the distal portion. The pull wire extends from the control member and is anchored to the elongate body distal to the articulating segment such that actuation of the control member controllably bends the articulating segment in a first curve in a first geometric plane. The preformed curve segment defines a second curve in a second geometric plane different from the first geometric plane.

Out of plane deflectable catheters

A medical lead includes a lead body, a proximal connector, a helix extending from a distal end of the lead body. The helix is configured to anchor to a patient tissue, and the helix forms a helical electrode. The medical lead further includes a distal ring electrode, and a cable within the lead body, the cable including a cable conductor, a cable electrode proximate a distal end of the cable conductor, and a blunt dissection tip at a distal end of the cable. The cable is slidable within the lead body to extend and retract the cable electrode along a trajectory extending from the distal end of the lead body. When the helix is anchored to the patient tissue, the blunt dissection tip is configured to blunt dissect the patient tissue along the trajectory extending from the distal end of the lead body through extension of the cable.

Multielectrode medical lead

A guiding catheter and method of its use are presented wherein the catheter includes an elongate catheter shaft having a proximal region and a distal region and a length. The shaft defines a distal region and includes a distal tip. The distal region defines an arc of approximately 180 degrees and having a radius of 0.3 inches to 0.6 inches. The distal tip forms a half turn of a left-hand helix having a pitch of 0 inches to 0.4 inches. The unique shape of the distal region allows the distal tip be perpendicularly aligned with the septal wall of the right atrium at the His bundle location when the catheter is advanced therein.

Permanent his-bundle pacing device and method

An extendable medical lead comprises a lead body and a sheath defining a cavity that encloses a length of the lead body. The length of the lead body enclosed within the sheath may be coiled or otherwise gathered such that when extended, the length of the enclosed section of the lead body is greater than the length of the sheath. The sheath may include a seal to help prevent contaminant entry into the cavity in order to help reduce tissue in growth around the length of the lead body disposed within the sheath. A portion of the length of the lead body enclosed within the sheath exits the cavity through an aperture defined by the seal when a tensile force is applied to the lead body.

Extendable implantable elongated member

This disclosure describes an implantable medical lead, and method of making such a lead, that reduces the undesirable effects the fields generated by an MRI device may have on the implantable medical lead and the implantable medical device. The implantable medical lead has a proximal end configured to connect to an implantable medical device and a distal end. The lead also includes at least one electrode located near the distal end and at least one coiled conductor that extends along a length of the lead from the proximal end to a respective electrode. The lead further includes an outer jacket that is configured to only partially extend between turns of one or more of the coiled conductors.

Magnetic resonance imaging compatible medical electrical lead and method of making the same

A catheter used to deliver a medical electrical lead to a right atrium of a heart in close proximity to a His bundle. The catheter is adapted such that the distal tip confronts the His bundle generally perpendicularly. The catheter includes a proximal portion and a generally hook-shaped distal portion. The distal portion may include curves that direct the distal tip at an angle of over 180 degrees from the direction of the proximal portion.

An elongate body of a medical electrical lead includes at least one conductor formed into a coil that includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion extends within an outer insulation sheath and the second portion extends outside the outer insulation sheath to be exposed to an environment external to the lead body as an energy dissipating shunt.

An implantable lead for a medical device includes a lead body having a proximal end and a distal end, an electrical connector coupled to the proximal end of the lead body, an electrode coupled to the distal end of the lead body, and electrically conductive conductor coil extending between the proximal and the distal end of the lead body, the conductor coil wound in a first winding direction under tension. The lead body also includes a plastic ribbon wound around the conductor coil in a second winding direction opposite to the first winding direction without releasing the tension of the conductor coil.
