Methods, systems, and devices for temperature calibration are described. A device may support temperature calibration for a set of temperature sensors. For example, a wearable device may activate a set of temperature sensors associated with the wearable device. The set of temperature sensors may include a primary temperature sensor and one or more secondary temperature sensors. The wearable device may determine a trigger to calibrate the one or more secondary temperature sensors based on one or more conditions, and calibrate the one or more secondary temperature sensors using the primary temperature sensor based on the trigger. Based on the calibrating, the wearable device may process temperature data associated with a user that is received from one or more of the primary temperature sensor or the one or more secondary temperature sensors.

A method includes receiving physiological data associated with the user from at least one wearable device, the physiological baseline providing reference user alertness data. Methods, systems, and devices for detecting an orientation of a wearable device are described. The method may include the wearable device transmitting, using a light-emitting component, first light and second light and generating a first signal and a second signal based on the first light and the second light, respectively, received using photodetectors. The first and second light may be associated with first and second wavelengths, where signals associated with the first wavelength are relatively unaffected by varying orientations of the wearable device, whereas signals associated with the second wavelength vary based on different orientations of the wearable device. Further, the wearable device may determine an orientation of the wearable device worn by the user based on a comparison of a first signal and the second signal, and may acquire physiological data from the user via the wearable device using measurement parameters that are determined based on the orientation.

Methods, systems, and devices for determining blood pressure based on a relative timing of pulses are described. In some implementations, a system may include one or more wearable devices configured to measure heartbeats at different locations on the body of a user. The different locations may be different physiological locations (e.g., chest and finger/wrist), and/or different penetration depths at the same physiological location. The system may use the components of the wearable devices to acquire physiological data and to observe one or more heartbeats of the user over a time period. The system may compare pulse observation times observed at the different locations, and may determine a blood pressure metric for the user based on a relative timing of when heartbeats are observed at the different locations.

A wearable electronic device may activate a first combination of optical sensors, the first combination of optical sensors including a set of transmitter sensors and a set of receiver sensors. The device may measure, at the set of receiver sensors at a first time, one or more signals from the set of transmitter sensors, determine a signal quality metric associated with the one or more signals, and select a second combination of optical sensors for use at a second time based on the signal quality metric.

Hardware (HW) components of the MCU of the wearable device may receive an interrupt command from sensors of the wearable device via one or more buses during a time interval that processing components of the MCU are in an inactive state. The HW components may perform a read operation to read data from a preconfigured buffer address of the sensors during the time interval that the one or more processing components are in the inactive state and based on receiving the interrupt command. The HW components may then perform a write operation to write the data to a preconfigured memory address of the memory during the time interval that the one or more processing components are in the inactive state.

The invention relates to an optical sensor system of a wearable device. The system comprises: at least two photo transmitters, a photoreceiver, receiving electronics, and a microcontroller. The microcontroller is configured to: set measurement conditions of the system; control taking at least one main sample from the received signal at one receiver channel; analyze the at least one main sample; control taking at least one test sample with at least one changed measurement condition at the same receiver channel; analyze the at least one test sample separately; compare at least one characteristic of the at least one test sample signal to the corresponding at least one characteristic of the at least one main sample signal; and change the measurement conditions to correspond to the measurement conditions used for the at least one test sample, if at least one characteristic of at least one test sample signal is better than corresponding at least one characteristic of the at least one main sample signal. The present invention introduces an arrangement for enhancing the performance of an electronic circuit comprising a phototransistor (Q). Either a common-collector or a common-emitter connected phototransistor (Q) has a main resistor (R), and at least one external bias resistors (R, R, R), each in parallel to one another. The microcontroller may directly control the voltage outputs or act via respective switches (S, S) regarding each respective resistor. When the electronic circuit with the phototransistor (Q) is switched on, at least one of the external bias resistors (R, R, R) are switched on. The voltage output rise time is short, and when the bias has been set, the external bias resistor(s) are disconnected functionally. This means that during the actual measurement with the electric circuit, only the main resistor (R) is used in the connection.

An arbitrator circuit for accessing a bus comprises a logic gate arrangement (), one input of which is coupled to a first bus line. The circuit comprises a switching arrangement ().
