Preparing and analyzing a fluid for a multi-spectral analysis is disclosed. The multi-spectral analysis includes providing two or more separate and independent types of spectroscopies including at least a first spectrometer and a second spectrometer of a spectrometer system to examine the fluid after that fluid has passed through one or more sample preparation processes to increase a purity of a target biological entity in the fluid and thereby enhance signal to noise ratios in measurements and related data analysis operations.

Systems and method for measuring pathogens and biomarkers in fluids

Embodiments of this invention relate generally to a miniature multi-spectral system to detection pathogen, biomarkers, or any compound from a sample. In one example, a miniature multi-spectral system comprises a first miniature spectrometer to generate a first spectral output based on a sample, a second miniature spectrometer to generate a second spectral output based on the sample, and a processor coupled to the first and the second miniature spectrometers. The processor is configured to execute instructions to perform data fusion of the first and second spectral outputs to generate fused data, and to apply artificial intelligence (AI) of an AI module to the fused data to identify a pathogen, biomarker, or any compound from the sample.

Systems and methods for measuring a fundamental mode vibrational spectrum of materials and substances in the Mid-IR spectral range of 2.5 &#x3bc;m to 14 &#x3bc;m wavelength. are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a Mid-infrared absorption spectrometer (MIRAS) system includes an infrared Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) single element emitter light source. The light source is electrically pulsed and emits electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range from 2.5 &#x3bc;m to 14 &#x3bc;m and has an integral energy concentrating optic to provide energy for a spectral absorption process. The system includes a scanning high-efficiency infrared spectral grating with self-calibrating feature, configured so that incident energy having absorption information for the spectral absorption process of a sample is within a predefined threshold of a grating blaze angle. The system also includes a single-element thermal detector to receive output energy having the absorption information from the infrared spectral grating.

Compact infrared spectrometer systems and methods for measuring vibrational spectrum of materials and substances

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for measuring a fundamental mode vibrational spectrum of materials and substances in the Mid-IR spectral range of 2.5 &#x3bc;m to 14 &#x3bc;m wavelength. In one embodiment, a Mid-infrared FT-IR spectrometer system measures, identifies, or quantifies substances in the spectral range 2.5 &#x3bc;m to 14 &#x3bc;m. The system includes an infrared Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) single element emitter light source. The light source is configured in operation to be electrically pulsed and to emit electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range from 2.5 &#x3bc;m to 14 &#x3bc;m and with integral energy concentrating optic to provide energy for a spectral absorption process. A scanning beam splitter is positioned in an interferometer optical path with fixed angle mirrors and a thermal detector having a sensitivity to determine a maximum optical sensitivity of the system.

An inventive thin-film radiative structure is provided that includes a thin nanocomposite radiative film deposited on a substrate, the thin-film including a mix of finely dispersed phases formed by elements Mo, Si, C, O in the following atomic percentage terms: Mo from 10 to 20%, Si from 15 to 30%, C from 15 to 60%, O from 0 to 20%, and one or a combination of elements Ti, Zr, Hf, Cr, Si, Al, and B in percentage terms of 0-30%. The thin-film radiative structure has an emissivity of more than 0.7 for wavelengths 2-20 &#x3bc;m at temperatures above 500&#xb0; C., and a sheet resistance of between 10 and 150 Ohm/sq. The radiative film may be used as a thermoresistive element in thin-film infra-red thermal emitters and infra-red heaters, and in nondispersive infrared sensors (NDIR) and photo-acoustic gas sensors, and as the radiative element in IR signaling devices.

Provided is an anode for use in electrochemical cells, wherein the anode active layer has a first layer comprising lithium metal and a multi-layer structure comprising single ion conducting layers and polymer layers in contact with the first layer comprising lithium metal or in contact with an intermediate protective layer, such as a temporary protective metal layer, on the surface of the lithium-containing first layer. Another aspect of the invention provides an anode active layer formed by the in-situ deposition of lithium vapor and a reactive gas. The anodes of the current invention are particularly useful in electrochemical cells comprising sulfur-containing cathode active materials, such as elemental sulfur.
