Example implementations relate to wiping die nozzles of fluid ejection dies. For example, a printing device may be directed by execution of stored instructions to eject a droplet in a first direction from an opening in a die nozzle toward a location of an absorbent wipe material and to wipe the opening concurrently with the droplet being ejected from the opening.

Wiping nozzles of fluid ejection dies

An example assembly includes a first guide positioned in a pre-print zone area of an imaging device. A second guide rotatably is connected to the imaging device and spaced apart from the first guide to permit a print medium to traverse between the first guide and the second guide. A bearing mechanism connects the second guide to the imaging device in the pre-print zone area. An interface mechanism is operatively connected to the second guide. A bias element is positioned between the interface mechanism and the second guide to release energy upon exposing the interface mechanism to the pre-print zone area allowing rotation of the second guide away from the first guide.

Print medium guides

Examples of a printhead assembly are disclosed herein. An example of the printhead assembly includes a die to print, a base member, and at least one electrode. The electrode may be used to provide a charge to attract and collect particles that would normally otherwise interfere with operation of the die.

Printhead assembly

In an inkjet printer having a small print head assembly and a large print head assembly, a wiper includes a first wiper section having a width approximately equal to a width of an orifice area of the small print head assembly, a decoupler adjacent to the first wiper section, a second wiper section adjacent to the decoupler, where the first and the second wiper sections and the decoupler combined have a width approximately equal to a width of an orifice area of the large print head assembly, and a squared tip at an extremity of the single, segmented wiper to impede wicking action. A tab holds the wiper oriented so as to wipe the print head assemblies in a direction of a printing operation.

Wiper for an inkjet printer

A wiping assembly includes a pair of guide elements located at opposite ends of a headland region of a fluid ejection assembly to extend in a second orientation generally perpendicular to a first orientation through which the opposite ends extend. Each guide element includes at least one first portion and a second portion. The at least one first portion selectively receives biased releasable engagement from a non-wiping portion of a wiping element extending along the first orientation to cause a wiping portion of the wiping element to be in generally parallel relation to, and spaced apart from, the headland region. The second portion causes the non-wiping portion to no longer be in biased releasable engagement against the guide element and causes the wiping portion to be biased in wiping relation against the headland region.

A device for an inkjet printer includes a compliant cap, which in turn includes a floor and flexible walls extending upwardly from the floor, and a lip formed on the walls. The floor, walls and lip define an open interior volume sized to accommodate a print head assembly of the inkjet printer. The device further includes a cap post that accommodates the compliant cap and supports the floor.

Capping for inkjet printers

A wiping device for an inkjet printer includes a wiper mount moveable between a wiping position and a non-wiping position. A slider coupled to the wiper mount, translates between a retracted position and a deployed position. A first translation of the slider to the deployed position causes the wiper mount to move into the wiping position. A trigger, operable between a cocked position and an un-cocked position is coupled to the slider. In the cocked position, the trigger locks the wiper mount in the wiping position. When actuated, the trigger moves to the un-cocked position and the wiper mount moves to the non-wiping position. The wiping device includes logic to control the actuation and non-actuation of trigger.

Wiping device for inkjet printers

An apparatus for use as part of an inkjet printer to clear an ink drop stalagmite in the printer. In one embodiment the apparatus includes a clearing device coupled to an access door of the inkjet printer, wherein upon operation of the access door the clearing device at least partially clears the ink drop stalagmite.

An inkjet printing system includes a platen adapted to support a print media, a printhead adapted to eject ink into a print zone between the printhead and the platen toward the print media and beyond a first edge of the print media to generate waste ink, a first absorber formed in the platen within the print zone such that the first absorber is adapted to extend beyond the first edge of the print media and absorb the waste ink ejected beyond the first edge of the print media, and a second absorber adapted to contact and absorb the waste ink from the first absorber, wherein the first absorber has a first capillary head and the second absorber has a second capillary head greater than the first capillary head.
