The present invention provides for compositions for administering a therapeutically effective amount of a therapeutic component. The compositions may include an ophthalmically acceptable carrier component; a therapeutically effective amount of a therapeutic component; and a retention component which may be effective to reduce wettability, induce viscosity, increase muco-adhesion, increase meniscus height on a cornea of an eye and/or increase physical apposition to a cornea of an eye of a composition.

A titration package and method for enabling compliance with a regimen of changing dosage of medication over a period of time includes a backing having an array of receivers with the array including a plurality of columns and a plurality of rows. A plurality of sets of Memantine tablets are provided with each tablet set having a common dose of medication and a different does than a tablet of a different set. Each set of tablets is disposed in receivers of one having an adjacent row and an adjacent column. Indicia is provided and disposed adjacent to the columns and rows for displaying common days and successive weeks.

Ophthalmic compositions include an ophthalmically acceptable carrier component, for example, an aqueous-based carrier, and a plurality of polyanionic component portions having different molecular weights. Compositions including antibiotics and methods for using same

Compositions including a quinolone component in an amount effective as an antibiotic when the composition is placed in a mammalian eye, and a carrier component in an amount effective to act as a carrier for the quinolone component are provided. The present compositions are substantially free of other components effective as preservatives. Preferably the quinolone component has fungistatic activity. In one very useful embodiment, the compositions include a NSAID component in an amount effective to reduce inflammation or pain when the composition is placed in a mammalian eye. Methods of using the present compositions, for example, to resolve microbial infections and/or to reduce inflammation and/or pain in a mammalian eye are included within the scope of the present invention.
