A device, for example a mouse pad, configured to illuminate, fluoresce, or glow depending upon user input or user motion. The pattern, format, shape, and/or direction of illumination by the mouse pad depend upon user-directed motion of an input source relative to the mouse pad. For example, the illumination pattern or profile of the mouse pad can depend on user-directed motion of an illumination source, for example a LED source carried by an optical mouse, relative to the mouse pad. The mouse pad includes a first layer that includes a first luminescent composition and a second layer that includes a second luminescent composition. The first luminescent composition and the second luminescent composition can have different luminescent properties or characteristics. The first luminescent composition and the second luminescent composition can be selected for establishing or providing the mouse pad with a desired, intended, or target set of illumination characteristics. The ratio of the first luminescent composition to the second luminescent composition can also be selected and/or varied to provide the mouse pad with a desired, intended, or target set of illumination characteristics.

Illumination based user motion tracking devices and methods

A system and method are disclosed for capturing information associated with wireless audio sounds among a plurality of users. When a user encounters audio sound files of interest, the user can capture information regarding the audio sounds, such as title, artist, collection, genre, year, encoding rate, size, playlist, a unique identifier, or other desired information. The information can be used to seamlessly purchase the sound files from a remote digital repository.

A system and method are disclosed for wireless sharing of audio sounds among a plurality of users. A user of the present invention can communicate his or her audio sounds to other users, who can receive the audio sounds wirelessly and choose to rebroadcast them. Along with the audio sound files users can share information regarding the audio sounds being shared, such as title, artist, collection, genre, year, encoding rate, size, playlist, and other desired information. The user of device can opt to set the device to transmit, re-transmit, broadcast, re-broadcast, receive or not to receive play-list information in addition to the audio sound files and the information regarding the audio sounds themselves.

Wireless sharing of audio files and related information

A system and method are disclosed for wireless sharing of audio sounds among a plurality of users with access to a dedicated, shared signal. A user of the present invention can communicate his or her audio sounds to other users, who can receive the audio sounds wirelessly and choose to rebroadcast them. As such, an audio sound sharing network can be readily established at any time and place among participants in the network.
