There is provided a device and method of filtering outliers from physiological values. The method comprises: (a) populating a window with n physiological values taken, in sequence, from a sequence of physiological values, wherein n is a positive integer; (b) determining whether the variability in the physiological values within the window is less than a predetermined threshold; (c) responsive to the variability in the physiological values within the window being less than a predetermined threshold, determining that the window comprises no outliers, and/or responsive to the variability in the physiological values within the window not being less than a predetermined threshold, determining that the window comprises at least one outlier.

Haemodynamic monitor with improved filtering

An apparatus and method for determining stroke volume. The apparatus receives an arterial pressure waveform and is arranged to correct a part of the pressure waveform that relates to a heart beat for an influence of an ectopic heart beat, of atrial fibrillation on the pressure waveform or of changes in the pressure waveform's baseline. The apparatus also comprising means arranged to calculate the stroke volume from the corrected waveform.

Hemodynamic monitor and method of hemodynamic monitoring

A device and method for use in monitoring blood pressure. The device comprises a controller configured to monitor a first blood pressure measurement based on a first blood pressure signal. The controller is configured to initiate acquiring a second blood pressure measurement based on a second blood pressure signal if the first blood pressure measurement exceeds a predetermined threshold. The decision to initiate acquiring the second blood pressure measurement is based on only one blood pressure measurement.

Device and method for the continuous non-invasive measurement of blood pressure

A hemodynamic monitor including a processor incorporating software arranged to continuously analyze and process a blood pressure or arterial volume/plethysmographic signal obtained from the subject in order to derive a plurality of complementary parameters throughout the monitoring of the subject. The monitor also incorporates a display arranged to interact with the processor to display images representing the derived plurality of complementary parameters. The images include at least one image representing graphically at least one stress related hemodynamic parameter plotted against time and at least one image representing graphically at least one fluid responsiveness parameter plotted against time.

Patient monitoring

A monitoring device arranged to display a level of consciousness and hemodynamic parameters of a patient for simultaneous viewing. A dependence of changes in the hemodynamic parameters of the patient on the level of consciousness of the patient may be more easily observed using the monitoring device. Correlations between the patient's level of consciousness and the patient's hemodynamic parameters may further be determined and displayed to aid clinicians in estimating any improvement in hemodynamic parameters that may be achieved through manipulation of the patient's level of consciousness, fluid status and drugs.

Method for the measurement of post arteriolar pressure

A method for the measurement of cardiac output in a patient in which the arterial blood pressure waveform of a patient from a blood pressure monitoring device over a period of time is subjected to various transformations and corrections, including a Fourier analysis in order to obtain the modulus of the first harmonic. The nominal stroke volume is then determined from the first harmonic and data relating to the arterial blood pressure and heart rate. The nominal cardiac output is then obtained from the nominal stroke volume.
