A system for servicing a computer controlled machine comprising: a computer controlled machine including a device operable to perform a function, a controller controlling the operation of that device, and a data access port for transferring data and commands from the controller; and a service tool operably connected to the data access port, the service tool including a remote communications capability, a computer, and diagnostics and graphing software; and an expert observer system operably linked to the remote communications capability of the service tool and including historical machine data, machine sales information, software revisions for the controller, additional diagnostics software, and an expert observer capable of providing a mentor capability to the operator of a service tool.

A system for electrically connecting electrical components. The system comprises a first ribbon cable; a connector cap including a track area adapted to operably engage the ribbon cable, and a connector base having a first ribbon cable receptacle area adapted to electrically engage the first ribbon cable. The connector cap includes a first pair of posts spaced a first distance apart and a second pair of posts spaced a second distance apart, the second distance differing from the first distance. The connector base includes a second receptacle area adapted to electrically engage a second ribbon cable, electrical interconnection wiring electrically interconnecting the first and second receptacles, and a receptacle operably positioned and sized to receive the first pair of posts and sized to interfere with the second pair of posts.

The connector cap includes a track area adapted to operably engage the ribbon cable, a cap alignment guide, and a cap orientation guide. An electrostatic precipitator is disclosed which is provided with a plurality of gas jets which upon activation repulses the normal gas flow through the electrostatic precipitator during cleaning to create a quiescent condition to reduce further dispersion of the loosened particulate layer into the outlet stream. A control system for operating the jets and the discharge and collector plate rappers is shown.
