A fuel pump module includes a fuel pump, a housing, a filter, a bracket, a lid, a fuel passage, and a pressure regulating valve. The fuel pump supplies a fuel in a fuel tank that defines an opening to an outside of the fuel tank. The housing has a cylindrical shape and supports the fuel pump. The bracket connects the filter to the housing. The lid covers the opening and defines a discharge port through which the fuel is supplied to the outside. The fuel passage connects the fuel pump to the discharge port. The pressure regulating valve has a gravity center inside a space defined by a first virtual cylindrical surface including the housing. A minimum circumscribed circle of both the housing and the filter is smaller than the opening.

Fuel pump module

A fuel pump module includes: a pump unit; a lid provided to close an opening of a fuel tank; and a flexible fuel tube. The pump unit includes a fuel pump configured to pump fuel out of the fuel tank, a housing that holds the fuel pump, and a filter configured to filter the fuel. The lid has a discharge port to supply the fuel to outside of the fuel tank. The flexible fuel tube connects the pump unit and the discharge port. The housing includes a guide portion configured to fix the pump unit to a fixing member having a pair of rails provided in the fuel tank, and a separation regulating member configured to regulate the guide portion from separating from the pair of rails by engaging with the fixing member.

Fuel pump module, fuel supply device, and method of installing fuel pump module in fuel tank

A fuel supply device includes a pump unit, a lid unit and a strut linking unit. The pump unit is located on a bottom of a fuel tank for discharging fuel from the fuel tank to an outside thereof. The lid unit is attached to an upper wall of the fuel tank to close an opening formed in the upper wall. The lid unit has a fuel discharge port. The strut linking unit connects the lid unit to the pump unit. The strut linking unit includes an upper-side strut member, which is formed as an independent component from the lid unit. The strut linking unit includes a lower-side strut member, which is movably connected to the upper-side strut member in a vertical direction. The upper-side strut member is connected to the lid unit by a snap-fit connection. A connecting portion between the upper-side strut member and the lid unit has a stress concentration portion, which is preferentially damaged when an external force is applied to the strut linking unit.

Fuel supply device

In a high-pressure pump, a center of load in a virtual plane including an end face of a coil spring facing a pressurizing chamber in an axial direction is defined as an upper load center, and a center of load in a virtual plane including an end face of the coil spring facing a cam in the axial direction is defined as a lower load center. The coil spring is configured such that, when viewed in the axial direction, during motion of a plunger toward the pressurizing chamber by rotation of the cam, the upper load center moves in one direction along a circumference of the coil spring while the lower load center moves in an opposite direction along the circumference of the coil spring, and the lower load center substantially coincides with the upper load center and subsequently further moves in the opposite direction.

High-pressure pump

A cylinder is configured into a bottomed tubular form and includes an inner peripheral wall, an inner bottom wall, an outer peripheral wall and an intake hole and a discharge hole. The inner peripheral wall slidably guides the plunger. The intake hole and the discharge hole communicate between the inner peripheral wall and the outer peripheral wall. A pump housing includes a cylinder receiving hole that includes an inner peripheral wall, into which the cylinder is inserted. A pressurizing chamber is formed by the inner peripheral wall and the inner bottom wall of the cylinder and a distal end outer wall of the plunger.

A plunger stopper is installed to a cylinder hole forming portion of a cylinder forming member. The plunger stopper cooperates with a step portion of a plunger to limit movement of the plunger in a state where a slide surface of the plunger contacts an inner peripheral wall surface of the cylinder hole.

A piston can reciprocate in a piston guide cylinder in an axial direction and has a cavity on a piezo driver side thereof. If the piezo driver is energized, a tip of a projecting section of a pushing member pushes a bottom wall of the piston defining the cavity. If fuel pressure of a pressure control chamber increases via a pressurization chamber and a communication passage due to pressurization by the piston, a needle moves in a valve-opening direction against a first compression coil spring. Since the piston has the cavity, a movable mass of the piston is reduced while securing axial length of a sliding section. Thus, fuel leak from the sliding section between the piston and the piston guide cylinder can be suppressed, and an inertial resistance caused in the piston can be reduced.
