Some embodiments of the invention provide a configurable integrated circuit (IC) that has several configurable circuits for configurably performing different operations. During the operation of the IC, each particular configurable circuit performs a particular operation that is specified by a particular configuration data set for the particular configurable circuit. While the IC operates and a first set of configurable circuits performs a first set of operations, configuration data is loaded from the outside of the IC for configuring a second set of configurable circuits. In some embodiments, the configurable IC includes a configuration network for rapid loading configuration data in the IC from outside of the IC. In some of these embodiments, the configuration network is a pipelined network. Also, the IC of some embodiments includes a configuration controller for retrieving configuration data from outside of the IC, formulating configuration data sets, and routing the configuration data sets to the second set of configurable circuits over the configuration network.

Runtime loading of configuration data in a configurable IC

A novel configurable integrated circuit (IC) that has several configurable circuits for configurably performing different operations is provided. A method to interact with a remote USB device is disclosed. An identifying message is received from a remote client associated with the remote USB device. The remote USB device is identified based at least in part on the identifying message from the remote client. A security policy is determined for the remote USB device. A policy message is transmitted to the remote client for selectively implementing the security policy of the remote USB device. A method to interact with a local USB device is disclosed. An identifying message is determined by performing a host controller service for the local USB device. The identifying message is transmitted to a server. A policy message is received from the server for selectively implementing a security policy on the local USB device. The security policy is regarded and configuring the host controller service.

Universal serial bus selective encryption

A method to interact with a local USB device is disclosed. Messages are transmitted to a remote host controller driver from a host controller associated with the local USB device. Messages are received from the remote host controller driver for the host controller. In some embodiments, a transfer descriptor prototype is received from the remote host controller driver. A completed transfer descriptor is received from the remote host controller driver. The completed transfer descriptor and the transfer descriptor prototype are transformed into a modified transfer descriptor in part by using a collection of rules. The modified transfer descriptor is submitted to the local host controller without intervention from the remote host controller driver.

Universal serial bus assistance engine

Some embodiments of the invention provide a configuration/debug network for configuring and debugging a configurable integrated circuit (IC). The configurable IC in some embodiments includes configurable resources (e.g., configurable logic resources, routing resources, memory resources, etc.) that can be grouped in conceptual configurable tiles that are arranged in several rows and columns. Some embodiments allow tiles to be individually addressed, globally addressed (i.e., all addressed together), or addressed based on their tile types. The configurable IC includes numerous user-design state elements ('UDS elements') in some embodiments. In some embodiments, the configuration/debug network has a streaming mode that can direct various circuits in one or more configurable tiles to stream out their data during the operation of the configurable IC. Accordingly, in the embodiments where the configuration/debug network connects to some or all of the UDS elements, the configurable/debug network can be used in a streaming mode to stream out data from the UDS elements of the tiles, in order to identify any errors in the operation of the IC. In other words, the streaming of the data from the UDS elements can be used to debug the operation of the configurable IC. In some embodiments, the configuration/debug network has a broadcasting mode that can direct various resources (e.g., memories, storage elements, etc.) in one or more configurable tiles to store the same data. For instance, the broadcasting mode can be used to initialize the memory blocks in the configurable memory tiles.

Accessing multiple user states concurrently in a configurable IC

Some embodiments of the invention provide a configurable integrated circuit (IC) that includes several configurable circuits grouped in several tiles. The configurable IC also includes a configuration network for loading configuration data into the IC, where the configuration data is for configuring several of the configurable circuit. In some embodiments, the configuration network includes several registers at several boundaries between the tiles, where the registers allow multiple configuration data sets to be routed to multiple tiles concurrently. The configuration network in some embodiments includes several address counters at several tiles, where each address counter allows one address to be loaded for a tile and then to be successively incremented based on increment instructions sent over the configuration network. At least, two different addresses specified by an address counter of a particular tile identify two different resources within the particular tile.

Some embodiments of the invention provide a configurable integrated circuit (IC) that includes several configurable circuits for configurably performing different operations and several user design state (UDS) circuits for storing user-design state values. The IC further includes a trace buffer for storing user-design state values associated with an operational trigger even of the IC. In some embodiments, the configurable circuits, UDS circuits, and tracer buffer are on a single IC die.

Some embodiments of the invention provide configurable integrated circuit (IC) that includes several configurable circuits that are conceptually in tiles. The IC also includes a first data network for passing data between the configurable circuits. The IC further includes a second packet-switch network for receiving packets of data from the outside of the configurable IC and switchably routing each packet to at least one destination tile. In some embodiments, the second packet-switch network supplies data from the tiles that the configurable circuits output in response to data packets received from outside of the configurable IC. Also, in some embodiments a particular packet that is for a particular resource in a particular tile includes a first address that identifies the particular configurable tile from the plurality of configurable tiles, and then a second address that identifies the particular resource within the particular configurable tile.
