A hydraulic arrangement for fail-safe and pump-through of a safety valve. The arrangement allows for compact actuation of a safety valve through accumulators. The arrangement supports automatic closure of the valve in the emergent circumstance of any loss of hydraulic control above the valve. Additionally, the arrangement also allows for a technique of re-opening the valve for long term killing of a well in direct response to the introduction of kill fluid without requiring any added complex interventional measures.

Integrated fail-safe and pump-through valve arrangement

A valve includes a chamber and a piston positioned at least partially in the chamber. A first POLYMAGNET is coupled to a first side of the piston, and a second POLYMAGNET is positioned in the chamber and faces the first POLYMAGNET. An actuator is coupled to the second POLYMAGNET and rotates the second POLYMAGNET from a first rotational position to a second rotational position, which causes the first POLYMAGNET and the piston to move with respect to the second POLYMAGNET.

Polymagnetic flow control valves

A technique which enables construction and operation of a subsea landing string system having a system manifold or manifolds unprotected by a dielectric fluid compensated enclosure. The manifolds contain directional control valves and corresponding solenoids which are able to operate while being exposed to environmental fluids such as seawater. The ability to operate manifolds in an unprotected environment enables the manifolds to be positioned in a variety of locations along the subsea landing string system or in cooperation with the subsea landing string system. The subsea landing string system also may be a modular system in which manifolds are added or removed according to the parameters of a given operation.
