C. in the presence of an acid catalyst having a pKa of 1 to 7 in the presence or absence of a solvent. If desired, the resulting isomerization mixture can be separated into the constituent geometric isomers. The isomerization mixture or the separated isomers can be used as pharmaceuticals, their intermediates, or essential ingredients of perfumes and cosmetics.
