Disclosed is an improved approach for implementing participatory interaction at events using mobile devices. One approach is to utilize distributed display screens for the mobile devices in an audience to display a much larger collective image. Another approach is to utilize the distributed cameras of mobile devices in an audience to form a massive capture device from the different locations and perspectives of the audience members. Yet another approach is directed to the use of mobile devices in the audience to capture motion events among the audience, which are then used to synthesize new media items and types for the event.

Method and mechanism for coordinated capture and organization of multimedia data

Systems and methods for storing waveform data and outputting data to a waveform viewer are disclosed. A waveform is segmented into a plurality of segments, and data describing each segment is stored at several levels of resolution. When a user wishes to view a portion of the waveform, the appropriate segments of the waveform are identified, and the appropriate levels of resolution are selected. The data describing the appropriate segments at the appropriate levels of resolution are output to a waveform viewer. An index may be provided to aid in selection of the appropriate data. Various methods for compression of the data are also supported.

Method and system for implementing a waveform viewer

A method for generating a physical integrated circuit layout, using the similarity between a template and the physical layout as a metric. This automated template-driven layout methodology creates a physical integrated circuit layout which approximates the specified template as closely as practicably possible. The similarity of the positioning of circuit elements in a physical layout is improved with regard to the positioning of those same circuit elements in a template. The circuit elements' placement is incrementally improved by attaching a cost to each placement, with a lower cost reflecting a better match between circuit element placement in the physical layout and the template. Fuzzy logic concepts are employed to determine the cost of a given layout.
