A new and distinct Oriental lily hybrid named `Vanity` characterized by numerous large, upright, rose pink flowers and forming a striking inflorescence with tall, strong stems for cut flower production.

Oriental lily plant named `Vanity`

A new and distinct variety of Oriental hybrid lily cultivar characterized particularly by its medium height and large, semi-upright to outward facing flowers of rich magenta rose coloration carried on ascending pedicels forming a compact raceme, flowering profusely in late July under field conditions in northern California and western Oregon and having a vigorous growth habit.

The fewer the flowers on the stem, the more upright the pedicels and buds become. In addition, it has green, glossy and relatively disease resistant foliage.

A new and distinct variety of lily plant of the Parkmannis-type oriental hybrid particularly distinguished by the glossy purple red coloring and white frilly border of its 7 to 8 inch diameter, generally flat, outwardly facing flowers which are borne with raceme arrangement on long, strong stems which carry stiff, upwardly extending pedicels, usually with one bud or flower on each pedicel, and by its dark green, glossy and relatively disease-resistant foliage.
