A display device according to an embodiment includes a substrate, a display element layer disposed on the substrate, and a window disposed on the display element layer. The window includes a display area and a peripheral area, wherein the window includes a base layer, a print layer disposed on a side of the base layer and including an opening, a first ink layer that overlaps the opening and includes an infrared ink, and a second ink layer that overlaps the opening and includes a white ink.

A cholesteric liquid crystal reflective polarizing plate includes a cholesteric liquid crystal layer and a &#x3bb;/4 compensation layer disposed on the cholesteric liquid crystal layer. The cholesteric liquid crystal layer includes a first left-handed circularly polarizing portion which extends in a first direction that include a left-handed cholesteric liquid crystal material, and a first right-handed circularly polarizing portion which extends in the first direction adjacent to first left-handed circularly polarizing portion and that includes a right-handed cholesteric liquid crystal material. The &#x3bb;/4 compensation layer includes a first &#x3bb;/4 compensation pattern which extends in the first direction and overlapping the first left-handed circularly polarizing portion, and a second &#x3bb;/4 compensation pattern which extends in the first direction adjacent to the first &#x3bb;/4 compensation pattern and overlaps the first right-handed circularly polarizing portion. The first &#x3bb;/4 compensation pattern and the second &#x3bb;/4 compensation pattern have slow axes perpendicular to each other.

Cholesteric liquid crystal reflective polarizing plate and liquid crystal display including the same

A polarizer includes a first laminated structure having a first layer with a first refractive index and a second layer with a second refractive index, wherein the first and second refractive indices are different from each other. A buffer layer is disposed on the first laminated structure. A second laminated structure in the polarizer has a third layer with a third refractive index and a fourth layer with a fourth refractive index, wherein the third and fourth refractive indices are different from each other.

Polarizer and liquid crystal display including the same

A polarizer includes a reflective polarizer main body and an Rth compensation layer. The reflective polarizer main body includes a repetitively laminated structure, the repetitively laminated structure including two layers of different refractive indices repetitively disposed on one another. The Rth phase compensation layer is disposed at one side of the reflective polarizer main body. The Rth phase compensation layer is configured to compensate for a phase difference in an Rth direction.
