The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating efficient retrieval of diagnostic information from a computing endpoint that experiences a failure condition. For example, systems described herein may detect or otherwise identify a failure condition associating with the computing endpoint operating in an erroneous or unpredictable matter. Systems described herein may involve carving out a portion of memory on the computing endpoint that is accessible to a host system (e.g., a CPU). Systems described herein may further provide a discoverable resource that enables a host system to identify and collect the diagnostic data in response to identifying a failure condition in an efficient manner and without requiring that the computing endpoint be capable of responding to data requests.

Retrieving diagnostic information from a PCI express endpoint

Processor-based systems employing local dynamic power management based on controlling performance and operating power consumption, and related methods. The processor-based system is configured to locally manage its power consumption by dynamically adjusting operating frequency and/or operating voltage of power supplied to the processor-based system. The processor-based system includes a power control circuit that is aware of the overall power budget for the processor-based system. The control processor in the processor-based system can dynamically increase the voltage level of the power supplied to the processor-based system and/or the operating frequency if the consumed power is lower than the power budget. The power control circuit can also dynamically decrease the operating frequency and/or the voltage level of the power supplied to the processor-based system if the consumed power is higher than the power budget.

Processor-based system employing local dynamic power management based on controlling performance and operating power consumption, and related methods

One aspect of the present disclosure involves dynamically performing power capping with respect to a group of computing systems. Different priority levels can be assigned to at least some of the individual computing systems within the group of computing systems. Individual power limits can be set for the plurality of individual computing systems based at least in part on the different priority levels and utilization levels of the plurality of individual computing systems. Another aspect of the present disclosure involves dynamically performing power capping with respect to various subsystems of a computing system. Different priority levels can be assigned to at least some of the plurality of individual subsystems within the computing system. Individual power limits can be set for the plurality of individual subsystems based at least in part on the different priority levels and current power consumption of the plurality of individual subsystems.

Dynamic power capping of computing systems and subsystems contained therein

In a main computer system coupled to an auxiliary display device, described is an interface set for implementation by an auxiliary display device driver, to couple the driver to an auxiliary display platform. Commands received from the auxiliary display platform may be handled by code external to the driver, such as a class extension object. For example, the class extension object may interpret and/or translate commands received from the auxiliary display platform into a format understood by the driver code. The auxiliary display device driver may then provide corresponding command information including data to the auxiliary display device via the transport. Event data may be returned from the auxiliary display device driver via the interface set to the class extension object, such that corresponding event information, e.g., received at the auxiliary display device, may be returned to the auxiliary display platform.

Auxiliary display device driver interface

A computer system with an architecture and protocol that facilitate ready integration with an auxiliary display device. The auxiliary display device is coupled to the computer system over a transport, such as Bluetooth, USB or TCP/IP. From an application level gadget, control of the display device is through a programming interface to a platform component. The platform component interfaces with a device driver, which has two components. One component is common and can be used with any auxiliary display device supporting the protocol, regardless of which transport is used. The second component is transport specific. The second component processes data streams representing packets according to the protocol, conveying the packets as data in accordance with the format of the transport. The second component may be simple because it is not required to perform any processing specifically associated with the display functions or protocol.
