The present invention relates to a mono or multi-layer polyester film, a process for producing the mono or multi-layer polyester film, an article comprising the mono or multi-layer polyester film as well as the use of the mono or multi-layer polyester film packaging products, insulating materials, solar, marine or aviation applications, science, electronic or acoustic applications, wires, cables, radio frequency identifications, flexible circuits, graphic arts, stone paper, holograms, filter products, cosmetic products, household products imaging, recording media, or industrial products.

Surface-treated fillers for polyester films

The present invention refers to the use of at least one mono-substituted succinic anhydride before or during extrusion of a polymer composition comprising polylactic acid as polymer component and at least one calcium carbonate-comprising material as filler, to reduce the polymer decomposition during processing and/or to decrease the melt flow rate of such an extruded polymer as well as a method for reducing the polymer decomposition during processing and decreasing the melt flow rate of a polymer composition comprising polylactic acid as polymer component and at least one calcium carbonate-comprising material as filler, the use of a polymer composition obtainable by a process comprising the steps of a) providing at least one polylactic acid as polymer component, b) providing at least one calcium carbonate-comprising material as filler, c) providing at least one mono-substituted succinic anhydride and d) contacting the components of a), b) and c) in any order and e) extruding the contacted components of step d) as well as an article comprising a polymer composition obtainable by the aforementioned process.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a surface treated filler material product with mono-substituted succinic anhydride(s) and a mixture of aliphatic linear or branched carboxylic acids comprising stearic acid, a surface treated filler material product, a polymer composition, a fiber and/or filament and/or film and/or thread and/or sheet and/or pipe and/or profile and/or mold and/or, injection molds and/or blow mold comprising the surface treated filler material product and/or the polymer composition, an article comprising the surface treated filler material product and/or the polymer composition and/or the fiber and/or filament and/or film and/or thread and/or sheet and/or pipe and/or profile and/or mold and/or injection mold and/or blow mold as well as the use of at least one mono-substituted succinic anhydride and/or salty reaction product(s) thereof in combination with a mixture of aliphatic linear or branched carboxylic acids comprising stearic acid and/or salty reaction product(s) thereof, for improving the flowability of a surface treated filler material product and for improving the dispersion of the calcium carbonate in the polymer matrix of a polymer composition.

The present invention refers to a process for making a calcium carbonate containing material, wherein the process includes a specific drying procedure and allows for the provision of calcium carbonate materials with reduced moisture pick-up and low porosity.
