An apparatus for recording and/or reproducing information on or from a tape has a fixed drum, a rotary drum, a bearing and a grounding member. The rotary drum is provided with at least one head. The bearing is disposed between the fixed drum and the rotary drum to enable the fixed drum to rotatably support the rotary drum. The fixed drum has a through hole formed within an area which corresponds to an area where the bearing is disposed. The grounding member is arranged in the through hole to be in contact with the bearing.

Recording and/or reproducing apparatus having rotary drum unit

A rotary drum assembly is arranged so that upper and lower drums can rotate about a central shaft with respect to each other via a dynamic-pressure bearing. In the rotary drum assembly, the central shaft is press-fitted into the rotary upper drum, a sleeve which is formed so that the central shaft can be rotatably fitted thereinto is supported by the fixed lower drum, and a dynamic-pressure generating groove is formed in either one of the central shaft and the sleeve, whereby a dynamic-pressure bearing is formed between the central shaft and the sleeve.

A motor comprising a rotor unit and a stator unit. The rotor unit includes a multipolar rotor magnet; a gear, disposed away from the center of rotation of the rotor unit with respect to the rotor magnet, for transmitting torque of the rotor unit to the outside; and a rotary shaft disposed at the center of rotation. The stator unit includes a substrate; and a plurality of coils disposed facing the rotor magnet on the substrate, the substrate having a cut-out section between at least two of the plurality of coils, with the cut-out section causing the outer peripheral section of the gear to be exposed.

In a capstan motor, a gear portion and an FG detection portion are integrally formed of a plastic magnet at mutually different wall thicknesses and they are fixed to the outer circumference of a rotor yoke. The FG detection portion is provided with multipolar magnetization to generate a rotation detection signal with a magnetoresistance element. The gear portion is arranged to transmit the drive force to the outside. The outer diameter of the rotor yoke is different at the gear portion and at the FG detection portion, depending upon the wall thicknesses of the plastic magnet. The outer diameter is set to be greater in the portion corresponding to the FG magnet of the rotor yoke.

Capstan motor

A motor includes a rotor magnet, driving coils and the detecting wire elements. The rotor magnet is mounted on a rotor yoke and has a plurality of magnetic pole pairs arranged at equal angular spacings, each having north and south poles. At least one pair of is unequally magnetized so that the north and south poles thereof are of unequal strength. The other magnetic pole pairs are equally magnetized so that the north and south poles thereof are of equal strength. The driving coils are provided on a stator yoke opposite from the rotor magnet. The detecting wire elements are provided on the stator yoke. The detecting wire elements are arranged at an angular spacing substantially equal to that of the magnetic pole pairs of the rotor magnet. The detecting wire elements generate output signals when the rotor yoke comprising the rotor magnet rotates to cause the unequally magnetized magnetic pole pair to move across from the detecting wire elements.

Motor

A recording or reproducing apparatus has a rotary head drum which is composed of a rotary drum with magnetic heads mounted on the outer periphery thereof and a stationary drum. It records a signal on or reproduces a signal from a magnetic tape by running the magnetic tape which is pulled around the predetermined portion of the outer peripheral surface of the rotary head drum. An angle varying member for varying the angle formed between the magnetic tape and the rotary head drum is provided at least at one of the locations where the magnetic tape enters and leaves the rotary head drum. Alternatively, a member for positioning the magnetic tape relative to the rotary head drum may be provided.

Recording or reproducing apparatus

An apparatus arranged to record or reproduce signals on or from a tape-shaped recording medium contained in a cassette, with tape reels and a pinch roller disposed within the cassette, by guiding and causing the medium to travel in an oblique posture relative to a cylindrical drum having magnetic heads comprises a moving mechanism arranged to move a first chassis which holds and carries the cassette and a second chassis which carries the drum relative to each other, a capstan disposed on the second chassis, and an urging member arranged to urge the capstan to be in pressed contact with the pinch roller. The capstan is thus arranged to be brought into pressed contact with the pinch roller by the urging force of the urging member.

A tape cassette is arranged to have its size reduced by arranging its tape reels to have a small flange diameter and by arranging a partition wall located opposite to a cassette aperture part across the tape reels to be close to the tape reels. A casing of the tape cassette is composed of two bodies including a first body which is disposed on the side of the aperture part, and a second body which is disposed on the side of the partition wall and is arranged to be movable.

An optical apparatus comprises a first lens to be used for changing a magnifying power; a second lens to be used for focus adjustment and also for compensation required when the magnifying power is varied; a focus detecting circuit for detecting an in-focus state; a first control circuit for driving the second lens to an in-focus position on the basis of information obtained by the focus detecting circuit; a detecting circuit for detecting the position of the second lens; and a second control circuit for driving the second lens to a normal focus adjustable position after driving the second lens to a reset position for the purpose of enabling the detecting circuit to perform a detecting action. The second control circuit is arranged to drive the second lens from the reset position to the focus adjustable position at a higher speed than the driving speed set by the first control circuit.

A brushless motor includes a rotor having a multipolar magnet with n-number of magnetic poles and a stator yoke having a plurality of field coils disposed at a position opposing the multipolar magnet. The stator yoke of the brushless motor is provided with a magnetic-resistance varying portion to improve the smoothness of rotation of the rotor.
