An image correcting device includes an image input section, an image storage section, a correction table storage section, a geometry correcting section for geometrically correcting an input image stored in the image storage section, based on a correction table, and an image output section for output of the input image corrected by the geometry correcting section, wherein the correction table is created by calculating longitudes and latitudes that correspond to respective pixel positions on an output image that becomes the corrected image; calculating corrected latitudes through correction of the latitudes, based on the longitudes and the latitudes; calculating light directions in a subject space, the light directions corresponding to the longitudes and the corrected latitudes; and calculating positions on the input image as resampling positions, the positions corresponding to the respective light directions; and associating the resampling positions with the pixel positions on the output image.

An image correcting device includes an image input section, image storage section, correction table storage section, geometry correcting section subjecting an input image to geometrical correction based on a correction table, and image output section outputting the input image as a corrected image. The table is created by: calculating a pair of angles (&#x3b8;, &#x3c6;) corresponding to each pixel position on the output image as the corrected image; calculating a light direction based on an intersection line between a plane obtained by rotating a YZ plane by angle &#x3b8; about Y axis and that by rotating an XZ plane by angle &#x3c6; about X axis, in three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system with origin at a projection center of the input image; calculating a position on the input image corresponding to the light direction, as a resampling position; and associating the resampling position with the pixel position on the output image.

An image correction device geometrically corrects an input image, based on the correction table, which is generated by obtaining a light-direction vector in an objective space corresponding to each pixel position on a corrected image, based on a first projection center located on the rear side of a second projection center as the projection center of the input image in the objective space with respect to the direction of an optical axis corresponding to the input image, obtaining from the light-direction vector an origin-based light-direction vector indicating a direction from the second projection center in which a point corresponding to each pixel position exists in the objective space, exacting a position on the input image corresponding to the origin-based light-direction vector, and recording in the correction table the resampling position in correspondence with each pixel position in the corrected image.

Method and device for correcting image, and method and device for generating correction table for use in correction of image

A liquid crystal display system which can accept input display data having a resolution which is larger (e.g. 1120&times;780 dots) or smaller (e.g. 640&times;480 dots) than a resolution of a liquid crystal panel (e.g. 1024&times;768 dots), and convert the input display data to reduced or enlarged display data for display on the liquid crystal panel. The system generates, for example, one new vertical or horizontal line based on two contiguous vertical or horizontal lines in the input display data. If the resolution of the input display data is larger than the resolution of the liquid crystal panel, the system replaces the two contiguous lines with the one new line. If the resolution of the input display data is smaller than the resolution of the liquid crystal panel, the system inserts the one new line between the two contiguous lines.

Liquid crystal display system capable of reducing and enlarging resolution of input display data

A liquid crystal display system which can accept display data having a resolution different from that of a screen for the liquid crystal display and display the display data. For example, a CPU outputs display data of 1120&times;780 dots and a liquid crystal panel has a 1024&times;768-dot resolution which is smaller than the display data resolution. The display screen of the liquid crystal panel comprises a linear arrangement of pixels. A data conversion section generates display data for a new horizontal or vertical line based on display data for two horizontal or vertical lines contiguous to each other and repeats replacement of display data of the two lines with the display data of the one line for reducing the number of horizontal lines of one screen and the number of dots of one line so as to match the resolution of the display data output by the CPU with the liquid crystal display. In contrast, if the resolution of the display data is smaller than the screen resolution of the liquid crystal panel, the data conversion section inserts the display data of the new one horizontal or vertical line between the two contiguous lines for enlarging the resolution of the display data.

A display device integrated with an input device comprises a display panel having picture elements being scanned line-at-a-time, a detector for detecting a voltage pulse applied on one of the picture elements through electrostatic coupling, a first circuit for applying a voltage pulse of a type differing with a plurality of regions into which the display panel are divided, on electrodes associated with the picture element in one of the plurality of regions during the non-display period, a second circuit for determining a region of the picture element by the type of the voltage pulse detected by the detector, a fourth circuit for determining a relative X coordinate in the determined region by counting clock pulses synchronized with sequential application of a voltage on electrodes until the fourth circuit receives the voltage pulse detected by the detector during the non-display period, and a fifth circuit for determining an absolute X-coordinate by the determined region and the relative X-coordinate.

Display device integrated with an input device

A display unit which can detect the X coordinate of a position with which a pen is in contact more efficiently. In a non-display period, X-electrodes are grouped into N regions according to the X-electrode arrangement, each region is divided into two parts according to the X-electrode arrangement, and selection voltage is applied to the X-electrodes belonging to each part having larger X coordinates. The process is repeated in order while N is doubled from one to the half value of the number of the X-electrodes of a liquid crystal panel. If a pen coming in contact with the liquid crystal panel and detecting X-electrode selection voltage detects selection voltage with respect to each N value, the Nth most significant bit of the X coordinate of the position with which the pen is in contact is set to `1.` If the pen does not detect selection voltage, the bit is set to `0.` Thus, the X-electrode of the position with which the pen is in contact can be detected at the number of selection voltage application times equal to the minimum number of bits that can represent each of the X-electrodes.

Display unit having a coordinate input mechanism

A display control system for controlling a plurality of display units and a method therefor. The display control system includes a pattern generator, and a plurality of bit map refresh memories equal in number to the display units. Input data are converted by the pattern generator to bit pattern information which is stored in the bit map refresh memory. The bit pattern information in the bit map refresh memory is read out repeatedly during time period corresponding to said display unit and is displayed on the corresponding display unit.

Display control method and system

The invention is concerned with a liquid crystal display apparatus which displays data by driving a liquid crystal panel in synchronism with horizontal synchronizing signals and vertical synchronizing signals. The driver for driving the liquid crystal panel is provided with timing signals maintaining a predetermined period, and with a voltage in synchronism therewith, irrespective of the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals. Therefore, even when the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals have not been applied, the liquid crystal panel is provided with an a-c voltage of which the polarity is alternatingly reversed by the timing signals. Therefore, electrolysis does not take place in the liquid crystal panel, and the quality of display is not degraded.
