A movable light beam is controlled and set within a tolerable range of a beam position A by using a galvano-mirror, and then a circuit offset relating to the beam position A is measured. With the circuit offset being subtracted, the movable laser beam is exactly controlled and set at the beam position A, and an output value DA from a sensor at that time is stored. Subsequently, an output value DB from the sensor is similarly stored in connection with a beam position B. An ultimate beam position of the movable laser beam M is controlled such that a difference between the output values DA and DB coincides with a difference between an output value DS of the sensor with respect to a stationary laser beam S and an output value DM of the sensor in connection with the movable laser beam M.

Method and apparatus for forming image

The carrying apparatus includes a carrying device for carrying an object to be carried, along a carrying route having a corner part, a control device for temporarily stopping and holding the object carried by the carrying device, and a detection device for detecting the object positioned at a corner part of the carrying route, wherein if the detection device detects the object when the control device stops carrying the object, the control device controls the carrying device such that the carrying device carries the object until the detection device does not detect the object any more and the carrying device then stops carrying the object.

Carrying apparatus and image forming apparatus

A fixing unit includes an inductor which heats a heating roller by electromagnetic induction, the heating roller serving as a heat source which fixes toner supplied to a paper sheet, and a heat control circuit which supplies radio-frequency power to the inductor. Particularly, the heat control circuit is set such that the radio-frequency power is changed in a stepwise manner to increase and reduce the temperature of the heating roller.

According to a beam control device of the present invention, if an exposure device including a light emitting section is instructed to form an image and a predetermined current is then supplied to an application specific integrated circuit and a main control section, then the main control section outputs an light emitting section on signal. An image forming apparatus and method causes a connecting/conveying device to convey a recovered toner from a cleaner part to a recovered toner housing unit to house therein the recovered toner. A controller controls a recovered toner supply unit and new toner supply unit in accordance with a toner concentration ratio in a developing device, which is detected by toner concentration ratio detecting unit, to supply the recovered toner, which is stored in the recovered toner housing unit, and a new toner, which is stored in new toner housing unit, to the developing device. The controller causes the amount of the recovered toner to be supplied to be less than the amount of the recovered toner during a usual operation, which is determined in accordance with the contents detected by the toner concentration ratio detecting unit, or stops the supply of the recovered toner, while a predetermined period condition is satisfied after the occurrence of a predetermined event in which the amount of the recovered toner stored in the recovered toner housing unit is temporarily excessive.

Apparatus and method for controlling the formation of an image with recovered and new toner

An image forming apparatus and method cause a connecting/conveying device to convey a recovered toner from a cleaner part to a recovered toner housing to house therein the recovered toner, and cause a control device to separately control a recovered toner supply device and a new toner supply device to supply the recovered toner, which is stored in the recovered toner housing, and/or a new toner, which is stored in a new toner housing, to a developing device. The control device restricts the supply of the recovered toner from the recovered toner housing to the developing device when a no-residual-amount detecting device detects no residual amount of the new toner in the new toner housing.

Apparatus and method for supplying new and recovered toner to a developing device

The carrying apparatus comprises a carrying device for carrying an object to be carried, along a carrying route, a heating device for heating the object being carried along the carrying route, a control device for temporarily stopping and keeping the object being carried along the carrying route, and a detection device for detecting whether the object is positioned at the heating device, when carrying of the object is temporarily stopped by the control device, wherein if the detection device detects the object positioned at the heating device, the control device controls operation of the carrying device so as to carry the object until the detection device does not detect the object any more, and then to stop carrying of the object.

The carrying apparatus comprises a carrying device for carrying an object to be carried, along a carrying route, a control device for temporarily stopping and holding the object carried by the carrying device, on the carrying route, if necessary, an open/close door provided in the carrying device, for opening/closing the carrying route, and a limiter device for limiting opening of the open/close door, based on detection of the object by the detection device.

An image forming apparatus and method cause a connecting/conveying device to convey a recovered toner from a cleaner part to a recovered toner housing to house therein the recovered toner, and cause a controller to control a recovered toner supply and a new toner supply in accordance with a toner concentration ratio in a developing device, which is detected by a toner concentration ratio detector, to supply the recovered toner, which is stored in the recovered toner housing, and the new toner, which is stored in the new toner housing, to the developing device. The controller separately controls the recovered toner supply and the new toner supply in accordance with the contents detected by the toner concentration ratio detecting means, to cause to change the combination of the amounts of the recovered toner and new toner to be supplied to the developing device.

Apparatus and method for forming image

An exposure apparatus emits a number of laser beams to the predetermined positions on a single photosensitive drum. Galvano-mirrors are employed for controlling the distances between the laser beams in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction. The angles of the mirrors of the galvano-mirrors are adjusted in such a manner as to eliminate the adverse effects caused by a drift, such as variations in the viscosity of the dampening agent of a mirror driving mechanism and variations in the magnetic force generated by a magnetic circuit. Without such adverse effects, the laser beams can be guided accurately to the predetermined positions on the photosensitive drum. The angles of the mirrors are monitored by checking whether the laser beams are incident on the predetermined positions on the detection areas of a beam position sensor.
