A motor driven appliance in one aspect of embodiments of the present disclosure comprises a light source, a lighting unit, a motor, an operation unit, an operation detector, a reference signal output unit, a determination unit, and a control unit. The operation detector detects that the operation unit is operated, and outputs an operation detection signal that indicates that the operation unit is operated. The reference signal output unit outputs at least one reference signal that can be used as a reference for determining whether the detection by the operation detector is normal. The determination unit determines whether the operation unit is actually operated based on the operation detection signal and the at least one reference signal. The control unit controls operation of the lighting unit based on the determination made by the determination unit.

A trigger switch includes a case having a switching mechanism inside thereof and open on one side, a cover configured to be fitted inside an opening of the case to close the opening, and a trigger arranged outside of the case and configured to operate the switching mechanism by sliding operation via the plunger. An engaging depression is formed on an inner wall surface defining an opening edge portion of the case. A shoulder is formed on an outer peripheral end edge portion of the cover. An engaging projection is formed to project outward from a side surface of the shoulder to a small extent so as to be capable of engaging with the engaging depression corresponding thereto. A joint groove is formed by the inner wall surface of the opening edge portion of the case and the shoulder, and the joint groove is filled with an adhesive agent.

A switch device includes a switch body and an operation member. The switch body includes a case and a rotary shaft rotatably supported by the case and extending from one end of the case in an axial direction. The operation member is joined to the rotary shaft. The case has a cylindrical outer surface and the operation member has a cylindrical inner surface disposed coaxial with the cylindrical outer surface of the case. A support member is disposed at one of the cylindrical outer surface of the case and the cylindrical inner surface of the operation member and has an edge portion extending linearly along a circumferential direction of the one of the cylindrical outer surface and the cylindrical inner surface, so that the edge portion can slidably contact the other of the cylindrical outer surface of the case and the cylindrical inner surface of the operation member.

Rotating operation member for a switch

One aspect according to the present invention includes a switch device for a power tool. The switch device includes a switch lever operable to move between an ON position for activating the power tool and an OFF position for stopping activation of the power tool. An on-lock mechanism can lock the switch lever in the ON position. An off-lock mechanism can lock the switch lever in the OFF position. The operation for making the on-lock mechanism effective and the operation for releasing the off-lock mechanism are performed by operating an operation member in different directions from each other or by operating two separate operation members.
