A seat back structure for a vehicle according to one aspect of the present invention including a headrest, a seat back frame, a pad disposed in front of a surface of the seat back frame, a backrest surface of the pad, and right and left side supports each provided on either side of the backrest surface in a seat width direction, in which a right slit portion and a left slit portion are provided between the backrest surface and the right and the left side supports, respectively, each of the right slit portion and the left slit portion penetrating the pad in the thickness direction of the pad and extending in a vertical direction of the pad, and the right and the left slit portions are spaced apart from each other in the seat width direction.

Seat back structure for vehicle

A vehicle seat is provided comprising a seat back frame having right and left side frames, a headrest for supporting a head of a seat occupant, and a back-and-forth movable plate member provided inside a backrest that is positioned at a rear of the seat occupant, wherein a backward movement of the plate reduces a distance between the head of the seat occupant and the headrest. Vehicle seat and method of assembling vehicle seat

A vehicle seat of the invention has an upper movable member () supporting a headrest (), a lower movable member () provided inside a backrest, and a coupling mechanism for coupling the upper movable member and the lower movable member. The coupling mechanism includes an upper link mechanism () positioned in an upper part of a side frame () and coupled to the upper movable member, a lower link mechanism () positioned in a lower part of the side frame and coupled to the lower movable member, and a rod () extending along the side frame and coupling the upper link mechanism and the lower link mechanism. The upper link mechanism amplifies a backward moving amount of the lower movable member, and moves the headrest forward.

A vehicle seat of the invention includes: a rectangular-shaped seat back frame () having a pair of side frames (); a plurality of seat springs (A,B) disposed between the side frames; a single plate-shaped flexible cushion plate () attached to the seat springs; a seat cushion () provided on the front side of the cushion plate; link mechanisms () provided near the side frames; and a headrest () coupled to the link mechanisms (). Both ends of the seat spring (B) are coupled to the link mechanisms. When the seat spring (B) is moved rearward, the headrest is moved forward. Both sides of each of the remaining seat springs (A) are mounted to the side frames.

Active headrest mechanism for vehicle seat

When a pressure receiving plate provided at a seat back moves to a rear side of a vehicle body when a vehicle is collided from behind, a Bowden cable transmits movement of the pressure receiving plate to a headrest ascending mechanism as a tensile load, thereby quickly ascending a headrest to reliably hold a head of an occupant. The Bowden cable transmits only the tensile load, and hence the Bowden cable is not buckled. Reduction in weight is made possible as compared with the case using a rod for transmitting a compression load. Since the Bowden cable is light, it is not required to unreasonably place the pressure receiving plate at a position near the headrest ascending mechanism for reduction in weight, and hence the pressure receiving plate can be placed at the optimal position where a sufficient driving force is obtained at the time of collision. Thus, a headrest is ascended with favorable responsiveness upon a rear-end collision of a vehicle while using a thin transmission member with low rigidity.

A holder for mounting an air bag module, the holder including a bottomed, substantially box-like body having a peripheral wall and an opening, the holder adapted to be fastened to a side plate of a seat back frame in a cavity of a back pad with the opening thereof facing a body of an automotive vehicle and with a bottom plate section thereof being applied to the side plate, and wrapped at the peripheral wall thereof by margin pieces which are provided around an opening portion in a side of a seat cover, rolled in the holder from the opening of the holder, and fastened to the holder, the air bag module having an air bag housed within an air bag case, the air bag module adapted to be incorporated in the holder and fastened to the side plate through the holder, whereby the air bag module is installed in the side of the seat back, the holder further including flanges, and at least first and second brittle sections serving as breaking portions, the peripheral wall including a front side wall section facing a front side of the seat back, a rear side wall section facing a rear side of the seat back, an upper side wall section, and a lower side wall section, the flanges projecting outwardly from edges of the front, rear, upper and lower side wall sections, at least a flange portion of the front side wall section having a thin metal plate embedded in an inner surface thereof, whereby the flange is reinforced by the metal plate, the first brittle section provided at a corner between the front side wall section and the upper wall section, and at a corner between the flange of the front side wall section and a flange of the upper wall section, and the second brittle section provided at a corner between the front side wall section and the lower wall section, and at a corner between the flange of the front side wall section and a flange of the lower wall section.
