The invention relates to a functionalized laminated optical element comprising: &#x2014;An optical base element; &#x2014;A functional film structure consisting of a single layer or a multilayer structure; &#x2014;A layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive of optical quality, placed between one surface of the optical base element and the functional film structure so as to permanently retain said functional film structure on the surface of the optical base element. Said functionalized laminated optical element maintains its integrity after typical processing of an optical article which includes wheel edging. More particularly the invention relates to the use of a specific adhesive system for improving the wheel edging resistance of functionalized laminated optical element. The functional laminated optical may be an ophthalmic lens.

Provided is a laminate sheet in which a first sheet, a PSA layer and a second sheet are laminated in this order. Of the first and second sheets, at least one is a release liner having a release face on the side facing the PSA layer. The PSA layer has a thickness of 200 &#x3bc;m or greater. The first sheet has a tensile modulus of 1000 MPa or greater and the second sheet has a tensile modulus of 500 MPa or less.

Provided is a PSA sheet that achieves both bonding reliability at a high temperature and reduction of outgassing. The PSA sheet provided by this invention comprises a substrate layer and a PSA layer provided to one face of the substrate layer. A method of detaching two plates adhered via an adhesive sheet or a curable resin layer, comprising moving, relatively parallel to each other, said two plates to develop a shear stress causing rupture of said adhesive sheet or curable resin layer. According to the present invention, two plates bonded via an adhesive sheet or a curable resin layer can be detached by only moving the two plates relatively parallel to each other. Therefore, even when at least one of the two plates is thin and poor in flexibility, two plates can be detached from each other substantially without a force (load) which causes high distortion (deformation) producing a breakage or crack on the plates. Accordingly, for example, when two optical plates adhered via a transparent adhesive sheet need to be re-bonded, two optical plates can be detached from each other and adhered again. Thus, the production cost of equipment with a display function, which carries a flat-panel display, can be reduced.
