An internal combustion engine to which a controller is applied includes a cylinder, a turbocharger, an intake passage, a throttle valve, and an exhaust passage. The turbocharger includes a turbine wheel, a compressor wheel, and a wastegate valve. An engine control system according to the present disclosure includes an oil temperature sensor and a waste gate valve control unit. The oil temperature sensor detects a temperature of an engine oil. The waste gate valve control unit controls opening and closing of a waste gate valve based on the temperature of the engine oil detected by the oil temperature sensor. More specifically, when the temperature of the engine oil detected by the oil temperature sensor is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold, the waste gate valve control unit controls the waste gate valve so that it opens.

A steering angle calculating circuit includes a first neutral point calculating circuit, a second neutral point calculating circuit, and an absolute angle calculating circuit. The first neutral point calculating circuit calculates a motor neutral point (&#x3b8;m01), based on a steering angle detected by a steering sensor and a rotation angle of a motor detected by the relative angle sensor, when a drive source for driving a vehicle is started. A steering control device includes a command value setting processing portion configured to set a current command value based on a detection value of steering torque; a feedback processing portion configured to control a voltage applied to a motor so as to control a current flowing through the motor to the current command value, based on an output value of an integral element obtained by using a difference between the current and the current command value; an end determination processing portion configured to determine whether a turning angle of steered wheels has reached a limit angle; and an end-time limit processing portion configured to perform correction to increase a magnitude of the difference, based on a degree of a decrease in a magnitude of a rotational speed of the motor when the end determination processing portion determines that the turning angle has reached the limit angle.

A temperature sensor includes a temperature sensitive element, a sheath portion, a surrounding portion, and a holding member. This temperature sensor has a void formed forward of a temperature sensitive body. When the void is projected in an axial direction of the surrounding portion from a forward end side of the surrounding portion, the void contains at least a forward end surface of the temperature sensitive body.

An availability prediction apparatus includes an access section that accesses a storage section and a prediction section. The storage section stores availability specified periods occurred before a present time associated with respective frequencies of the availability specified periods, and the access section acquires the availability specified periods from the storage section. The prediction section predicts at least one target availability specified period within a prediction term, which begins at the present time and ends at a time later than the present time by a predetermined term. The prediction section includes a correlating section that correlates the availability specified periods with candidate periods included in the prediction term, and a selection section that specifies and selects one of the candidate periods having a highest occurrence probability as the target availability specified period.

Availability prediction apparatus for electric power storage device

A power supply system for supplying a grid power to a building includes a power generator, a power storing device, and a power controller. The power generator generates off-grid power from a predetermined energy. The power storing device stores the grid power and the off-grid power and supplies the stored power to the building. The power controller controls consumptions of the grid power and the off-grid power. The power controller calculates predicted consumption data related to power consumed in the building and predicted generation data related to power generated by the power generator. The power controller calculates a charging-discharging schedule for the power storing device based on the predicted consumption data and the predicted generation data by formulating the charging-discharging schedule as a mixed integer programming problem.

A temperature sensor includes a pair of element electrode wires extending rearward from a temperature-sensing portion. A pair of second electrode wires are welded to the element s electrode wires, and made of a kind of metal having a different thermal expansion coefficient than the element electrode wires. Each second electrode wire includes an overlap section overlapping with an overlap section of the corresponding element electrode wire over an overlap region in a longitudinal direction in which the overlap sections of the each second electrode wire and element electrode wire extend longitudinally. The overlap section of each second electrode wire is welded to the overlap section of the corresponding element electrode wire at weld zones arranged in the longitudinal direction, which include: one at a front-side end of the overlap region; and another at a rear-side end of the overlap region.

When a section of the weld zone is taken orthogonally to the axial direction and in such a manner as to pass through a center point, L/D is greater or equal to 0.6, wherein D represents the diameter of the element electrode wire, and L represents the length of a chord connecting a first weld point and a second weld point as defined herein.
